FWIW, it's possible to "recruit" Katria with limited functionality by using AFT (maybe with EFF or UFO, I don't know) and the command console. To keep this short I'm going to assume that the reader is familiar with using the console. Here's how I managed to do it with AFT.
Progress thru the Forge quest up to the final tonal lock (2 spinners). At some point up to here use AFT during a pause in the progress to recruit her. Finish the quest and tell her goodbye.
Go back outside the ruin, all the way back outside.
Open the console and type the four commands below followed by the ENTER key: (note: she's a vanilla character so this should be the correct RefID)
PRID 2006754 MOVETO PLAYER (this brings her back into the game at your location but she's invisible) DISABLE ENABLE (these two commands will make her visible in ethereal form)
Close the console
Once she can be seen, she still won't respond to the action key (AFT menu won't open) so use the Advanced Leadership spell on her. Answer YES to the popup warnings.
Finally, use the same spell on her again. Nothing will happen but using the action key on her should open the AFT menu. At this point you should ask her to join you.
This procedure appears to be compatible with Convenient Horses (she calls a horse when the PC calls his/hers). She remains ethereal and remains speechless. Basically, it's like having a deadly ghost fighting on your side. Works best with additional companions that will actually converse with you...
I like the idea of rescuing her from the spirit realm. It should entail her bow ' Zephyr' . She mentions it as if there is something really significant about it. Perhaps it has a soul gem similarity where at the last moment, she hid herself in there (not like it hasn't been done before, so it would be lore) - To gain her back, you have to destroy the bow in some fashion - possibly even at the Aeterium Forge.
If ever you continue this, I would love to see your work
Hey, in case anyone was still interested in having Katria as a follower, I've created a mod where you can return to the Aetherium Forge and re-summon her as a follower from a journal she wrote after her and the Dragonborn parted ways. It's a bit more minor than any of the quest based ones on here and she isn't marriageable but she's a very useful follower. She is still ethereal, rather than 'solid' (which i prefer tbh and think it makes more sense) but she's a fully functioning, voiced follower with Katria's original DG model who you can trade equipment with and ask to do things.
If you're interested in downloading it I'd recommend doing so through Steam Workshop at http://steamcommunit...s/?id=205955118 or search for Katria in the search box
This is an interesting idea but this mod is about having her back among the living. We could combine the ideas thou. After one have made an item in the Aeterium forge one could find a way to bring her back to life, at a cost, possibly sacrificing the Aeterium item made as a reagent to power the process. Then we need a quest to take care of the person who cheated her, suggestively by humiliating him and destroying his creditability.
This was the plan for this mod, I had planned a mini quest to bring her back with the use of a fourth item, aeterium resurrection rod with one charge, then a quest to kick the guys ass that cheated her. if anyone wants to script the quest feel free
You should she what it would take to get Katria's voice actor to do some custom voices. Then it would stand out among the other mods that bring back Katria. It makes sense if you can't but still would be amazing if you could do it.
Thanks, I would of liked to get this mod finished, I only need a few lines of dialogue but my other problem is scripting for the quest. somebody here came up with a great quest idea that I would like to follow, but I would need to learn scripting first. I was planning on 4 versions. vanilla resurrected, custom face resurrected and both also in ghost form if you decided not to resurrect her .
I think I may have an old version of your mod. When I read the readme txt file it says version 1.0 but your download file says 06. My questions are, which one would be better for me to use as I have all DLC installed, and also, is there any real difference between the 2 files?
