I have such an issue with the bending of the joints. . . The thighs wouldnt' just bend back like that, they'd go down as normal thighs to the knee, and then the knee would taper back a bit to the heel and ankle. . . I love the idea but the model just kind of bugs me |3
When its done will armors be able to be worn because there's some custom armors i want to wear with it (i realize that some armors will have goat legs sticking out from the back of the trousers but that's fine) Also i think fur legs, nude chest.
Very interested in seeing this brought to life! And as stated below Seing Satyrs & fauns as a playable race would be amazing. I endorse the idea. sadly i havent got the expertice to help you more than that
Ive done something sort of like this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/images/187702/? Its a minotaur mesh I made but the concept is the same..
Basically what you want to do is try to match the shape of the legs as best you can (human legs) so lessen the bend on the goat legs and instead make the top part of the legs longer (if you don't do this you will likely end up with rigging issues). Keep in mind that your using a human skeleton so you need to match up the joints of the skeleton and the mesh.
If you want I could take a crack at making it work but you will need to decide which you want "ken doll" or realism for the... well Im sure you know what Im talking about here.. lol
send me a message (click on my name and then click send message after the page loads) if you want me to go ahead and try making it work.. (be sure to include any info about what you're after).
**EDIT** Sent you a message on the forums with a link to a file on mediafire which contains your satyr leg mesh (edited, rigged and added to a upperbody with texture paths to match the players). If you don't know how to access the forums, go to the top of your screen when you read this.. there should be a envelope icon with a 1 next to it... click on the envelope and then sign in with your nexus login details and your logged into the forums. FYI the forums are 100% free and doesn't require a premium membership to access it.
Seems like a pretty awesome mod, hope you keep working at it, not really lore friendly, but still, would be fun to have in game.. Keep cracking at it !
Basically this is what you need to do: Find the desired Skyrim body that you want to edit (female or male, I think they are on the nexus as templates if you don't want to unpack them from the BSA files). Open them in a 3D editing program (blender is free and works fine with this). I'm assuming you have gotten this far seeing as you have pictures of the mesh. Basically what you need to do is to mark all the vertices's that you don't want (that would be the legs in your case) and delete them. Then you can mirror the mesh along the center and add the goat legs, then you start the real work with the goat legs and you edit the vertices's positions to fit best how you want it.
This is a very basic representation of what you need to do, so if you are a beginner at this then I suggest you set of some time to do some 3D tutorials and follow a guide to for Skyrim modding. Google is really your best friend here (or any search engine for that matter).
If you don't have the time or don't want to do this then your only real option is the mod request in the forums. You will also get far more help there from more competent modders then me, if you so wish (I don't think you need to pay for the forums, if so then that is news to me).
The original Goat leg mod was for FEMALES only, no males. SO I attempted to make the male body on the female one and failed horribly. Now we have a male body for the female texture that doesn't work in game and no "Male" one.
