Ari was the first assignment after completing the Dark Brotherhood questline for my character, and it is the end of my participation in the DB. I share rhowington's distate for the DB, and only completed it because the Emperor needed to die. With no courts or other legal/community justice to answer to, vigilanty justice is called for and moral. The collateral damage to the gourmet and others was very regrettable. Resistance to tyrants is obiedence to God.
Ari is tired. My wife gets that tired taking care of our 4 kids, one who is intellectually disabled. My character wanted to invite her home for a shower and a few weeks of feasting and sleep. She would be renewed and refreshed. My character would never take a contract from an imperial Deep State agent anyway. I have half a mind to go back and kill him!

i think she's perfect not to overpowered or underpowered honestly i would have to make my other followers immortal just to have them do what she can you got my endorcment that for sure speaking of the beautiful one any armor you'd recommend for her other then the one she uses?
Very nice! She kicks @%% but I don't think she's too over powered. and she's no Barbarian! You ought to see her in a nice dress, Like the "dresses of Imladris" with a "Snowwhite Circlet", and a "Vicious Heart" Dagger, She cleans up really nicely. A complete set of Daedric Female Armor by Perraine with the "Unique Animated Crown" by Anton...all enchanted to the max, gives her a "sexy" look, while still protecting her from the badies! Glad to have her on my team! Thanks
If you have her installed and play the DB quest line another will spawn and be killed. If she is not in your party and you attack the spawned Beautiful Barbarian, she will kill you.
Sometimes the best surprises come from waiting. Where is she from? Why was she a target for the Dark Brotherhood? Who put a price on her head?
I have 2 more mods to release and then I will return to Ari and the others to fill in backstories and possible quests. I am not doing things this for more downloads or endorsements, I don't care about either and UDs and endorsements only count once no matter how many times you download. I had an idea for some characters to return to Skyrim and pushed them out as followers. Once they are all out I have always planned to return and enhance them including some being custom voiced.
So, in answer to your question of why she is so miserable and depressing? You will find out in a month or so. Thank you for choosing her as a follower.
Wasn't planning to, either. DB misc quests are utterly boring and pointless anyway. It's just since you said doing the DB questline may break the game, I was just wondering if she's scripted to attacking DB NPCs or somehow messing up someplace. Skyrim IS full of bugs after all.
No, she will just act as a regular follower with the exception of being overpowered at the early parts of the game. She simply replaces the Beautiful Barbarian DB target and is essential. That will skew the questline because she cannot be killed.
Just making her protected will allow for the kill anyway, then using a companion control program like UFO one could make here truly essential once's she recruited. or simply use a set essential command in the console, or if you add dialog, simply ask he to become essential as some other companions function. On the other hand I newer play the DB questline anyway, I prefer to destroy them instead.
I understand that Arthmor took out some npc's as quest objectives for his "Live another life" mod, I guess the idea is that if one start as a forsworn, killing the people at your own redoubt isn't really a good idea. Same thing if you are a bandit, your own band should be safe. Thus it should not be impossible to take out your barbarian as a possible target for the brotherhood.
Another possible development is to have her attacked by an assassin and by helping her out she starts to like you. It would be fun roleplaying to go after the brotherhood after such an event.
I suppose all such scenarios would work. Since I always destroy the Dark Brotherhood, I really never thought about doing things differently. I merely wanted to caution people of a problem so they wouldn't complain if their game became corrupted.
I Dl'ed Ari and the Dark Brotherhood Assist mod. I've never done the quest before. Do I enlist her to go along in the search for the sanctuary with the guide or am I supposed to destroy the Brotherhood on my own first and then activate her?
I understand your emphasis on NMM but, I found that it is the cause of all ctd [including this one] when adding any objects to Skyrim [18 setups]. I now only use it for Quality maps, better quest, race menu, sexy walk which doesn't add objects to the game. Using this method of manual install objects and NMM scripts, I had not one single ctd in 157 hrs of game with 59 mods. I would recommend assembling perhaps just a standard Ari follower package for players that prefer to avoid NMM problems.
You can download it manually and follow where the folders should be placed as I stated on the installation directions. After over 900 unique downloads, I haven't heard of NMM installation causing any problems.
Edit: I am considering a bsa version but it would have to be put below other follower mods.
