    Sticky
So, after quite a bit of time finally a new update (thanks to Guzio for kicking me) to bring the LE version of the mod on par with the SSE version.

    - The low framerate issue some have been experiencing should be now fixed.
    - Candle smoke no longer disappears close to the camera.
    - Added a few Imperial objects I had missed previously.

Im sure this has been mentioned somewhere but im just getting square smoke effects. Ive got SMIM, ELFX, Particle Patch, Wearable Lanterns, and Lanterns of Skyrim 2, as far as anything i can think of that might interfere. This mod overwrites all conflicts.

EDIT: Nevermind lol. Im dumb and didnt think i had to pick an option on the first set of choices on the installer lmao.

Why do I have this in my game?
    ?

Both kinds of smoke are present in here - old one and new one. They are of different style, of different color. A true cacophony. How to remove one of those?
    Version 2.0 installed.

Looks like the larger smoke cloud is from ELFX's smoking option in the installer. Just reinstall without it and you should be good, I think.

What if I want to keep the larger one instead?

For anyone who may be experiencing this problem I thought I would mention it here. First I have a heavily modded game so by no means am I blaming this mod in itself, the mod itself works great. But I was having an issue where anytime I was equipping a torch I would get a .5 - 1 second lag in my game or somewhat of a stutter. I removed this mod and the stutter/lag was gone. This is surely almost 99% related to the number of mods I have but if anyone else was experiencing this I hope this information helped.

When this mod is used with a low number of mods it works flawlessly!

Congratz, great mod ! Very good and immersive smoking effect. Perfect for realistic gameplay. Have one question in mind: how can i reduce smoke height so it disappear only little above the torch ? Thanks in advance and wish you best of luck ;)

Thanks, and sure. Open meshes/mps/MX_mpstorchsmoke01.nif, go to NiParticleSystem > NiPSysSphereEmitter and reduce "Life Span" and possibly "Life Span Variation", the latter adjusting how much the life span of a single particle can vary.

Thanks, man :) Tested with values 0.3333 for "Life Span" and 0.066667 for "Life Span Variation". Looks perfect in my opinion. Although i don't see any difference with values beyond 0.3333. And again - great mod, you did a perfect job ! Cheers;)

    Hi Artemis

Does increase light radius work with 2.0 in the optionals?

I find the torch not bright enough in distance.

If not, would you provide a patch or maybe there is a mod that already does that?

    Thanks

You mean the file in the old files section? It probably won't do any good.

I think there are already mods that do that too and they should be compatible as long as they don't mess with the torch models. If you prefer, I can also add one here.

I would be thrilled. I am sure others would not mind who have not come across this. I would also feel safer with the esp coming from you.

Also, I would like to be able to merge the file once I get my hands on it and is it mergable with your main file?

      Thanks!

The old file here indeed conflicts with v2.
It's actually very easy to increase light settings like radius, intensity, fade and duration yourself. It only requires you loading up a plugin in TES5Edit (or make a new one) and edit a few values. If you're interested, I could explain it to you.

Edit: Or better, go to my Revenant ENB page and download one of the Enhanced Torches and Fire plugins from the Optional Files section, either for ELFX, RLO or neither. These plugins tweak a bunch of settings of torches and other fire to make them more realistic, increasing the burning time, intensity, radius, near clip, flicker intensity and interval, movement amplitude, etc. No worries about conflicts!
