You'll probably never see this but it's supposed to be "Craftable Powdered Mammoth Tusk" rather than "Mammoth Tusk Powder", which is a non-alchemical quest item, so the title confused me a bit when Googling for this mod. :)
THANK YOU for this! Mammoth tasks are hard enough to find, let alone trying to find mammoth tusk powder, so this mod is extraordinarily helpful. Honestly, I'm just surprised Bethesda didn't implement this type of thing from the beginning, but then, it's Bethesda, so is anyone really surprised? Endorsed! =)
Thanks. I remember when I first started playing the game I tried to use the mills that I found in game to grind bone, mammoth tusks, and other things into powder.
It never worked of course but I thought it should have. Now, I guess I'll settle for using the cook pot
Its a kinda rare item to come across in the vanilla game, you'll usually only find it in giant camps and even then thats fairly limited, its an alchemy ingredient so you use it up pretty fast. Its like bone meal but just harder to find. Actually until recently I didnt even know it was in the game to be honest.
Like Edg3k said, it's just another way to get mammoth tusk powder. For some reason you're not actually able to grind up mammoth tusks into powder in the vanilla game. With this, you can do it at a cooking pot.
It's not actually crafted at an alchemy table, I don't think there's any easy way to do that. I made it so that you create it in a cooking pot, since that made more sense to me than doing it at any of the smithing crafting stations. A kitchen would have a mortar and pestle, or something along those lines...
