yes yes pretty pretty please. My character is a Battlemage and I really want to use the Ebony Blade as her sword (its my first playthrough as a 2H) and really dont want to kill my wonderful followers
Would this mod be compatible with a mod that changes Ebony Blade's enchantment (Artifact Balance Overhaul by Aertyr)? I was looking for a mod that would change the Ebony Blade to one handed, but let it use the modded enchantment.
Ok this will have to be tested. But as I didn't touch the scripts or enchantments. Any change made to the original enchantment by other mod will effect all weapons. IE Original ebony blade, Ebony Blade 1h, Ebony Blade 2h. Test it and let me know. If there is an issue I'll fix that.
Tested it, and no it doesn't work ;/ I get the vanilla enchantment, and the 2h version is a different sword than the one I get from Mephala ;o And it has 2x lower damage too. With 100 in 2-handed and 100 in 1-handed, the one handed version is stronger than the 2 handed version in your mod too.
Try this. Load the game before you have reforged the weapons and tell me if the enchantment was changed or not. Because if he put a custom enchantment on the sword then the original sword should have his enchantment. Also load his mod after this one. Let me know the result.
The enchantment works fine on crafted versions now, but I can't upgrade it. When I kill a friend, Mephala doesn't speak to me. The original blade works fine. Also, the failed experiments don't charge the blade, idk why (tested on original and 1-handed blade).
What you can try is uninstall the second mod. Use my mod first to Unlock the ebony blades powers and make sure you use the original sword you find on the table do not reforge it before its powers are unlocked. When you will unlock the blade then install the second mod. The reason why I didn't touch the Original Ebony blade in my mod, because any change of the script or the enchantment before the blade is unlocked will simply mess up that quest as you can see.
Oh, wow. When I saw this mod in the new mods list I was almost certain I would have to add it to the incompatible mods list for my mod, Full Ebony Blade. I'm very glad you came up with a creative solution to the issue, and here's to hoping that anyone who wants to get the full use of their Ebony Blade uses both of these. Great job with the simple solution to a common problem people have with an otherwise useful daedric artifact.
Yes it is compatible but I am having different ideas for optional files. This mod is actually an Upgrade of my Friendly Ebony Blade Upgrade. I made that mod as soon as I got the first CK in my hands and that CK and that mod had bugs. With this I am just upgrading that version and fixing any bugs that were created by old CK or myself. I was a noob back then

One more thought: how about some love for 1-handed weapons users? I can think offhand of two possible solutions: (1) have the ebony blade recraftable (using the original as materials) as a 1-hander; and (2) having the ebony blade disenchatable so the property can be transferred to any other weapons, perhaps including bows.
If you want a mod that redoes the Ebony Blade as a one-handed weapon, you should try out the old Ebony Blade Fixed mod. To the best of my knowledge, it still works properly once you sort out issues with incorrect loading order when you're running BOSS. (You have to make sure it loads after all of the DLC, the unofficial patch, and all of the DLC-related unofficial patches).

It should be fairly simple to go through that mod I linked, dereference the one-handed ebony blade, and then go about setting up crafting recipes that link both Ebony Blades together. That said, it would mean losing any kind of improvements you've made to the Ebony Blade, since you would be effectively forging a new weapon each time. I won't go into the detail involved in making it where you can disenchant the Ebony Blade, but there's a fair bit of work involved there, and it's nowhere near lore friendly.

Thanks for the upgrade! I just DLed the 1-handed version of the upgrade and crafted the weapon from the 2-hander, but it is invisible. Is there a mesh somewhere I need to DL. You credited another modder for the mesh, but it is not listed under his mods in his profile. There is no mesh in the DL here that I can find.
As per the picture above there is a Trap door leading into the Failed experiment room right next to the table. Right in the same place you can find the Ebony Blade for the first time. Behind Whispering doors. make sure you have the mod activated before trying to solve any other issues
I had previously completed that quest. Is this new dungeon still available? The reason I ask is that I have looked around the area and can't see the trap door. Will look again since I left Vilja back on the stairs waiting.
Edit, if I can't get this to work will Darkangel's Ebony Blade Upgrade do the trick without it? Can't imagine wanting to kill friendly NPCs - not without years of counseling afterward.
never really used the ebony blade because of the fact that i don't want to kill friendly people(who are few in the wildlands of skyrim) just to make a certain blade grow stronger. so i really thank you for this mod and i promise to give it a go and report back any problems i may encounter
