    I will eventually upload an updated version of this mod with some corrections and tweaks, probably in a month or two. However, I have decided to start this mod over from scratch using new concepts, modding skills I have gained (such as making the buildings and such purchasable as opposed to just having them there from the start), and utilizing new meshes and textures that I feel are a bit more lore-friendly. This version will still be here, and updated periodically, but the new version is going to be the focus of my modding for the foreseeable future. The new version will be very similar in concept, and come in two varieties- one where there are large terraces and land clearance that can be purchased on/in which to place Tundra Defense or Pocket Empire Builder buildings, and another for those who don't use PEB or TD in which the player purchases the buildings that eventually grow into a town, and hires NPCs to staff it. I am working on getting key NPCs custom voice-acted, but that may be a while. The core NPCs will be five merchants and and architect who will be the point of purchase NPC for the site, using the skills he has learned in High Rock and Cyrodil to make good, solid fortified towns. More will follow as I work on it, and the new mod will have its own page when the alpha testing version is ready to go up. Pics will be posted here as it develops until then, as will updated files and screenshots of this version as it, too is worked on.

      Thank the 9 your still working on this mod, thank you for it! ill surely be waiting on the next update i wish we can build a castle or keep inside with a throne lol it will put sidgear's long house and city to shame.

      Well, it's now October and I guess your Wifinator is still keeping you busy.
      Looking forward to the update. Love the idea of building my own empire.

      Maybe I missed something in the read through, but are you able to change the emblems on the guard shields? Maybe an option in the new version, cause I'd love to stick it to the snot nosed Jarl and have my guards sporting the Whiterun colours

      Hey bro, I wanted to update you, since this post of yours is over a year old and everything still hints to it being a beta mod I was interested in your progress, as far as my progress with it, I can't go near it or I CTD, i assume it is a conflict with one of my many many many mods and I just have far to many to poke through for just one mod which may or may not even be complete, I can stroll all around the world with no problems but the moment I approach lakeview I crash, i really want this mod to work so i am benching it for now pending further updates from you, further information includes that I tried this mod at the empty lot stage of lakeview and at the full estate level of lake view and the same thing, I am using 3 other castle villa mods, Dragonsmount, castle Grey and the Grotto

      I like the idea of changing the emblem on the shield and the banners and flags to that of player choice or to the dragonborn symbol

      Hello, after years i'm back to this world and Your mode one of the best here, coz it's exactly what i wanna see as own castle etc. in this "ocean" of different modes... One question - how can i remove Tree in the center? (wanna add some statue) and after this replace it will be perfect. Now i give it 9,9/10 ... Thx for this mode

    As much as I would love to be able to work on this, Real Life had other plans. Between being a single father of three and juggling work, writing novels, kids, and occasionally engaging in this mysterious thing called "sleep" I have to bow out. So, I hereby give permission for someone to take over this mod or use elements of it for their own, just give originating credit. Sorry folks, but even my stubborn butt has to know when to call it quits >.<

    Hi! I can't install this mod with NMM; I read that it can have conflicts with any mod that changes the area surrounding the Lakeview Hold. So, is it possible that Aulbryn's House from Voyage to Dreamborne Island, more or less close to it, makes a conflict?

    is the place small enough so tundra defense can encompass all of the hold or would i have to edit the files some so tundra defense can encompass an entire hold

    I just watched the second video for this mod and I am excited, if the video is what you are working on than it looks like you done your homework, murder holes in the gate room, the question is did you design a double portcullis gate room, typically you had a cullis on both sides of the gate room each independant of each other that way you could close both of them to trap unwanted visitors and thus put the murder holes to use, otherwise the murder holes would be severely out of place, from the video it looks like you are going for authenticity and realism so I hope that helps, since you are still working on this and it looks like it would be a major project I won't tell you to hurry or anything and I am willing to dump my other mods to get it working once it is finished but I have other cosmetic suggestions that might add to your realism

    The battlements along the wall coult go a little taller, the tops could go as high as the head or man high and the gaps between are short walls rising waist or mid torso abd station a guard 1 per every 3 gaps with 2 gaps seperating each guard the purpose for the height of the battlements is so that a man can easily duck behind one and the gaps are so that you can easily see down but remain obscurred from the ground.

    you might consider adding a parapet to each side of the gates this serves as a watch house for the gate guards, a small barracks you can say for the gate watch with a small cooking pot and 4 bunks down 1 level inside the parapet, the arrow slits are great, have you considered altering them to cross shape so a man inside can shoot in different directions without changing position.

    A suggestion for the west quarter and possible a seperate project altogether and an update maybe, many castles and keeps had small villages or hamlets either inside the walls or outside close to the walls for protection, you also need stables since I didn't notice any, a parade ground or training ground for the standing troops.

    if you go with the hamlet idea you will need a few houses, an inn and a tavern (no rooms for the tavern just lots of tables and benches, a general store, fletcher and a blacksmith, small church for the people and a brothel (whorehouse) a place for the soldiers to spend their money and off time, and that will lead you into other projects like creating possible followers since you will need or want to create attractive females and men to populate your brothel.
    put in a town square where you can have either a traveling circus, a farmers market or a slew of other possibilities

    well that is my 2 cents opinion

    I am so excited I am going to try and run it again and I am pulling out all the followers I have living at lakeview in hopes it will work

    trying your mod for the first time, it is installing right now, what would be nice is if you were able to hire more troops if you needed them, don't think it is possible just wishful thinking I guess, to many years playing dungeons and dragons I guess, what would you use a 1000 soldiers for, would be nice to add some kind of economy but I doubt the game would allow that, I am excited to try this mod, I watched the youtube video about it and I was impressed that you had enough creative intelligence to add a dry dock to your warf, when I saw that I knew I had to get and try the mod, if it works for me I will love you long time

    This is a amazing mod other than all of the problems first I think you should fix the game braking bugs then make this mod better. I can't wait for that update like I said amazing mod.

    Any place i can get freehold guard armor? i want to use it for my TD guard template chest so all guards match in apperance but no luck yet.
