The metal bits should be shiny, yes, but the leather shouldn't look so plastic. This leather looks more like pleather or modern factory made perfect leather. It should be a little more medieval, just not as scratched i guess.
I consider this to be a perfect fit style wise for the Imperial Legion, I always saw them as being the polished and oiled fighting machine with a parade ground like quality armour and your change has really managed to capture that and apart from anything else it is very different to any rendering style used before so very well done. Needless to say endorsement from me.
I do have my 0.02c to add though. First off I am not entirely sure if this style will fit every armour in Skyrim as you plan to do in your main SkyRealism mod (For example I feel Deadric armour and Glass armour woudn't benifet from your metallic touch but Dwemer and a toned down Orcish even would). Secondly I sometimes feel your Imperial Sword texture is a bit too much like a warped mirror instead of feeling like a mettalic sword, the way it bends and interacts with light sources just feels off. Lastly, and this is more of a request really, do you think it would be at all possible for you to have a look at NanakoMagojiro's mod (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11928/?tab=12&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fmodchangelog%2F%3Fid%3D11928%26v%3D&pUp=1) and perhaps apply your magic to his take on Imperial medium armour. If the process would take too long or you feel it isin't worth the effort or even if you just don't want to bother with it then no worries I just thought I'd take a leap and ask as I feel it would really complete the Imperial Legion for me persoanly at least and maybe a few other people too.
Again all in all so far you have done and outstanding job on these textures and I look forward to seeing more of your work!
You're completely right that this style won't fit every armor in Skyrim. I did really want to redo the Steel, Steel Plate, and Dwemer armors...but the rest of them would need a totally different approach.
The reason that the sword feels "off" is because environment mapping in skyrim is done on a per-object basis rather than a per-environment basis. It's totally the wrong way to do environment mapping, but Bethesda's stuck with it because of the 3D file format they're using, unless they wanted to make different resources for each individual zone.
I'm going to be working on the other vanilla armors as soon as I've got time...The past few months have been hectic for me. I probably won't do other people's armors though; there's simply too many of them and it takes forever to do.

^ Good job with that SkyRealisim mod you need for this...fix the links.
Otherwise, GJ on this. Looks nice and crisp, just how I like millitary armors in a game.

Thank you for the feedback.
Good job, look forward to seeing the completion of all the armors.
