I see that there are some new hairs in the race menu but they are missing textures at least thats what I believe is the case when they are all that light purple color. Any help? Thanks in advance.
Did you copied all the textures correctly? If you used NMM they should be installed correctly and if you installed manually be sure that you correctly extracted the archive into the data folder.
That's what this mod does, adds several hairstyles with coloured streaks. The braided one you're referring to is purple stripes (which become more or less noticeable depending on what colour you make the base colour). Another different style has blue streaks another turquiose/green and so on. You can change the basic hair colour of the styles that are added - as you would with a normal, unmodded style - but you CAN'T change the colour of the streaks (as far as I am aware).
