This is both hilarious and awesome at the same time. I've always LOVE the Golden Axe series and there's never a SEGA Genesis NOT hooked up in my house somewhere. Great job! <3
Ive even been thinking about making a golden axe dungeon. Purly linear (like the games) based on the enemies found on the journey through GA1. From the top of my head there are only 7 enemies. Longmoan, harringer, Axe women, skeletons, giants (boss), Giant knights, Death Adder. Everyone rlse is a pallate swap. And since I now know how yo make texture sets, I could even do yje palate swaps myself.
But thats a long way off, if at all. First I need to see whats actually involved in making a dungeon. And then I have to play through yhe gamr again to get a note of all the enemies. Then I need to balance the levels to make them '4 player' so that the 3 followers can come along. And find out how to make a quest.
I'm still a beginner at modding, my PC can bearly handle skyrim, and I have a full time job and 2 young children. So this might be a pipe dream. But it would probably come out as a seperate mod from this one.
T_T I remember back in my childhood - 2 naive kids, who didnt know english at all tried their best to clear this game, only to be slaughtered by that annoying griffon D: (some1 needs to make HIM a character so i could take my revengeDX)... hmmm still have sega, i wonder if the damn thing still works XD
This is the game that introduced me to the wonderful world of the arcade parlor and then video games! It would be so great if you can get the music from the game in to the mod too ( hopefully remastered to the higher bit rate).
You know if you think about it. skyrim actually has all the baddie npcs already in the game!. Golden ax had you fighting bandits at the start, (check), then giants ( check), it had skeleton warriors ( check), and finally it also had a dragon (check). You could remake the game in skyrim!!!
