The sheath is open along the back edge. The little straps along that edge can be wrapped over the open area and afixed to catches on the front side, securing the sword in the sheath.
One might also assume that without the weapon inserted, that the sheath awkwardly floppy. However, The back panel of the sheath is made up of reinforced hardened leather, so it is stiff. The front panel is not hardened, so it is more pliable, allowing the weapon to be more easily slipped in or out.
I really love the shape and would definitely use both versions, for the 2h version, but the tribal marking just seem a bit gaudy and more wood elf than red guard. would a no marking version be possible? if it would be too much work don't worry about it but if we're talking removing a layer in Photoshop, which would've been the way to go it it wasn't how you did it, I would definitely use and endorse.
Well, it took 3 or 4 days to learn how to do 5 minutes of work with Nifskope and Photoshop, but I finally got rid of the leather tab on the sheath of the one handed scimitar so that it does not stick up with DSR. Now I just need to create the new left handed meshes for it. And to think I almost passed up using this scimitar just because of the leather tab. I sure am glad I was born stubborn. This scimitar was just too good to pass up using. A reflection of how good your work is!!! Thanks ImsumDave!
