These are quite nice mate looking forward to one handed update, @notthedroidsurlooking4 actualy mate most spears used through history were used with one hand its just most films est u see these days have 2 handed martial arts feel to them as asian spear arts are more visualy appealing and they used two hands. as for the shield strap its hard to implement that as the strap would need to be adjusted for each character model.
p.s think u would get more downloads if u had some larger pics uploaded as the current ones make it hard to see the actual spears
I'm not so sure that you can say that single handed spears were the norm throughout history. Two handed spears in the form of pikes, etc. were a fundamental element of European warfare throughout the medieval period, and were pretty universal before that. Yes, the asian martial arts tend to dominate films these days, but if you look through some fechtbuche you'll see that two handed spears occupied a similar place in the western martial arts, and I would hazard to say that they were more prevalent than single handed spears on the whole.
@garg Hoplites and just about any other infantry unit from the bronze age until Alexander used a spear and shield. yes pikes do use two hands but hellenic pikemen, at least, strapped a smaller shield to one arm and as the greeks found out when Macedon marched south, pikes are not spears. A spear was something like 6 or 7 feet long, pikes where closer to 20 feet.
In which branch of one handed perk tree would I spend a point to get the benefit? Axes, swords or blunt? I spent a point in bladesman, but, since I got no crits so far, i'm not sure if am I the unluckyest guy in the world or these perks don't apply.
Glaive would be more accurate..at least for the Orcish, Ebony, and Daedric The Hammerfell is more of a naginata, and the Dwarven and Elven are more or less spears, maybe partisans due to the blade length
I only can craft War-Spears and Ranged-Spears, but no Battle-Spears, which are shown in the list. Also, I can´t upgrade the Melee-Spears at a grindstone.
I add this mod normally to the game, I don´t have the DLC: Dragonborn, maybe this is the reason. Or are there some known complications with other mods? Can you please help? I like to fight with spears.
Thanks for answering in advance.
PS: Sorry for grammatical failures, is not my first language.
The 'spears' in this mod all appear to be halberds or sword-staffs of various kinds, or at least not one spear is shown in the preview pics. Is there any chance of the addition of actual spears at some point in the near future please? Would love to carry a spear in game!
You don't want spears to be one-handed, it will lose a lot of realism unless you want to add animations so that spears are used with shields only and run along the side of the shield in a spear nook because they are uncontrollable when used single handedly, and the necessary change of making all spears arm bound rather than held in the hand (which I'll admit was my biggest disappointment about shields in Skyrim, a shield held by a handle in the middle by one hand would wobble and falter under the first strike it takes, rather than an arm hoop and handle like ... well, almost every shield in history.

also... why does the player hold the weapon from the middle?
