    You say that it "scales with destruction perks" but does it level your destruction skill? I want a mod that makes Vampiric Drain scale with your level or your Vampirism stage but also levels destruction. What's the point of it benefiting from destruction perks if you have to use other spells to level destruction?

    Any chances this will be coming to special Edition nexus?

    I assume this mod may have been abandoned, but I've been dying for the Vampiric Drain spell to match Serana's in that it drains Magicka... and it would make sense to drain Stamina as well, but for lore reasons, I suppose it shouldn't? ;w;

      Maybe using the better vampires much? The vanilla sound effect has always been this.

    This is a great mod, but it isn't really clear if it levels up your destruction skill as it is one of the main reasons i went looking for a mod like this.

      To be honest, I'm not sure if it does. This being my first time working with the creation kit I really didn't know much, so I compared the vampiric drain spell to the other spells. The PlayerVampireAbsorbHealthConcAimed effect (which is what vampiric drain uses) had by default a skill usage multiplier of 1.0, while other basic spell effects like the flames spell had 1.4. I assumed that a value of 1.0 meant there was no skill gain.

      In the spell I made, it uses two separate spell effects, both of which I gave a skill usage multiplier of 1.8 which I assumed should level up destruction, although to be honest I never tested that. I can test it out a bit if you'd like although I don't play Skyrim at the moment, I wouldn't mind. You could test it as well if you'd like and let me know the results - make note of your current skill progression, then in the console type "player.placeatme 1068FE 1". That's just a code for some random bandit. Kill a couple using only the spell, and check if the skill bar has went up at all.

      I can confirm that it doesn't level up your destruction skill, i killed several bandits and the skill did not raise, at all.

    hello there. i randomly got in this mod while searching through some things, i have to ask does it for you or someone sound little weird that this spell is considered to be destruction spell? as weird as for some it might sound this should go in restoration school since restoration is described as "school of magic over life force" so it sort of should fit there i guess.

    anyway good to have some use out of this spell now since before it was well if nothing else it just stopped recovery from things like trolls

    If I set Better Vampires at Reverse Progression (strongest at rank 1), would your Rank 4 drain become the Rank 1 drain? Also, BV makes it drain Stamina as well, does yours take it in consideration too?

      Yes I have the same problem. The Novice Destru perk does not reduces the cost of the spell. Any idea to fix it?

    Quick question for you: does this mod account for the Blood of the Ancients buff you get in the Dawnguard expansion when using the bloodstone chalice?

      As far as I know, the Blood of the Ancients buff only modifies the the Vampire Lord's Vampiric Drain. This mod only affects the default player's Vampiric Drain, and shouldn't affect the Vampire Lord's at all, and I don't think the buff should affect it either.

      Sorry for the delayed response, I haven't been playing Skyrim much lately, or any PC games for that matter.

    I have a quick question, sorry if it sounds noobish, but it isn't mentioned on the description. Does this mod affect how the drain spell works as Vampire Lord? because I'm using the Royal Bloodline mod and it fixes everything for VL, I just don't want to install another mod what will increase the damage as VL. But I would love to use one that increases the Vampiric Drain in (human) form, as it is a joke the damage it deals, is not worth to cast it.

      I did install the mod, but it says that my Vampiric drain is dealing only 3 dmg. I'm at stage 1 of vampirism I took a potion of blood. Then I fast forward the time to see if it would change but it wasn't doing anything. The only mod I use that messes with magic is Better Magic. And I also use Royal Bloodline which is a mod that changes how spells and other stuff work with the Vampire Lord transformation, it's not suppossed to change anything when you're not in Vampire Lord form.

      Any ideas how I can get it to work?

      It should only affect the vanilla vampiric drain spell, and only for the player.

      There is a bug (or possibly not a bug) that weakens your Vampiric Drain spell in Vampire Lord form by around 80% when Serana is a follower. Here's a link to a mod that fixes that, I use it myself:

      @kaixito

      If your Vampiric Drain is only dealing 3 damage there is definitely some incompatibility. It could be that the Royal Bloodline mod changes the Vampiric Drain spell as well, and may be overwriting my mod with its changes. Try loading this mod after Royal Bloodline, and see if that fixes it.
