After an eternity away from you all....agentspoon is BACK!
GTA5/O and ACIV take up ALOT of time!
If people are still around, I thank you, if anyone has questions that are unanswered then reply to THIS post and I will try to answer them all.
If anyone has any new findings on this Mod or thinks they know a way it can be improved then please contact me, I am more than willing to accept new ideas.
You might want to check out the HDT physics extension since you've been gone for so long. That hammers physics into Skyrim where it was never designed to go. Seeing as how your mod is about the awesomeness of physics enables goodies, and HDT lets you tell Skyrim to get bent, you're putting physics on that whether it likes it or not, there's no telling what bundle of awesomesause you might brew using it.
I have been using the HDT Mod recently, disabled it when I started my Khajiit character as it was pointless having it but I was impressed.
I have been looking at the extension and how its done, I may try to actually delve deeper but I assume people will come out with things before I even understand half of it.
I honestly cant get over how much of a difference physics make to games, ACIV for example. It needs to be a staple of all games.
Hi, I don't know if you already looked it through, but a lot of people, me included, are experimenting a weird issue with the lower part of the cape passing through your body. What could be the cause of that? Thanks in advance for the awesome mod.
it cannot be changed. it does the same in dawnguard. it is hard coded to work in moderation. just as jeff goldblum is only funny in small, well spaced burst's the cape was ment to function durring harkons showing off when he transforms to a vamp lord to tempt you to accept his offer, and the fight with him. thats it. when a players moves they do it differently than a NPC does in some way's and the fact the cape is ment for the vampire lord and not human types it will cause problems.
like for me it clips through my legs and some times gets stuck inside of my hips. and it appears like the cape is coming out of my lower shoulder blades instead of my neck area
You really should be more clear when explaining an install and requirements. does this need HDT physics extensions or not ? it doesn't seem anyone else can answer this either. You can't expect people to try and use a mod that doesn't have clear instructions. That's how people's Skyrim gets corrupted and broken. Really want to use this as it looks awesome, but I do not take risks on mod installs.
Thanks for the answer, but like I said, the description is not clear. I read it thoroughly just like every other mod description, which is why I had an issue. Anyways, appreciate the help.
I can't say whether or not this works for the majority, but I could never get it working myself. However, no worries as I gave up on capes with physics for performance reasons. At any rate, I'm commenting because a while after I uninstalled your mod I was entering Castle Volkihar for the first time on a new character and got a CTD every time until I removed the INI edit required by your mod. I also found that corroborated here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/933400-persistent-crashing-upon-entering-castle-volkihar-spoilers-inside/
if you could add that you need to remove the [Verlet] section from your INI to your uninstall directions I'm sure some would appreciate it and possibly stop CTDs for some folks in the future. Keep up the good work; the mod community will only stay alive as long as new content is being added and tested, and we'll all benefit.
The cape seems to behave differently with higher or lower FPS, I don't know if that only happens to me or if you are aware of this, but it does. I was messing around with the ENB menu one day, testing s*** out to see what they do, and I decided to test the FPS cap for... whatever reason. Anyway, when the FPS was uncapped (I usually get 50-70 FPS) it behaves more like a mod that adds static capes such as "Cloaks of Skyrim", I mean, the cape still moves around, but is way more static than, say, when it's capped to 25-30 FPS, where it seems to work perfectly (the cape actually goes up when you jump, it moves around way more, etc). And also, if the FPS is 15 or lower the cape just goes apeshit, as if it was possessed or something. I don't know if you even plan on working on this mod any more, but if you do it would be awesome if you could fix this issue (or maybe it's one of those "I can't do anything about it due to the way the engine works" kind of situations, because I know the physics engine behaves differently at higher FPS), because this is one of my favourite mods from the 200 or so I have installed and this really bugs me.
@skyler544, thanks for this. I didn't encounter the bug since I'm just testing some mods here but I definitely would have since I tend to leave things in my ini files that maybe I shouldn't. Sure you prevented me a lot of grief here.
Can you make a version with no tattered edge like the image in the "images" tab from users that says "removed tattered edge for followers'. Personally, I think that the tattered edge looks horrible.
OTHER THAN THAT, THIS MOD IS ULTIMATE PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any chance of a SSE version? I tried to install this version on it but the cape was colored wrong made my screen flicker black and didnt work correctly lol
Simply download the Optional File and overwrite your Flowing Cape.esp file in your Data Folder.
This fixes the Breton Vampire Bug, Makes the Cape Enchantable and (I think) adds compatibility with Frostfall, it should now view the Cape as a Cloak and add the benefits of such.
Please, let me know if anything is amiss from this update as soon as you can and I will attempt to correct it.
MOD in accordance with the instructions is installed, the INI file and add data, but sometimes the cloak would have run figure before the body, when riding cloak back into the horse inside, do not know what reason.
When I try to edit the shape of the cape I can only edit the lower part of it? Also is it possible to move the cape away from the body abit to avoid some clipping stuff
I got same problem as some people...i installed correctly and did the .INI changes but when i walk sometime's the cape gets stuck in me and it looks like a skirt...also the lower part only move's....can a animation mod be the problem?
not possible unless you edit the hard code of the game and that could ruin your game forever. he USED the vampire lords cape and just found a way to resize it and have it fit normal people. that is it, so here is the answer to everyones questions
could this work for winter is comming cloak mod? - NO! could this work in cloaks of skyrim mod? - NO! could this work for <insert mod here> - NO!
but why? because physics are not like editing the size of an object, or changing the color of a texture. adding physics takes A LOT of 1) time, 2) skill 3) the right programs. now while it could be possible to make capes with physics you would need to have the hard code of skyrim be edited. i have no clue if bethesda does this with their games but most games have their base codes encrypted to prevent fraud and theft of their product, you can still make a torrent of the game but you cannot edit the actual skyrim code, you can only change it at face value
it would take months of work to get one custom cape with physics. so wash rence and repeat for every cloak or cape style you want. too much time it is why games and mmo's will use static capes or nothing at all. physics also are laggy for common PC's which is why MMO's do not use it. the physics they have for clothing is an illusion. it is actually part of the characters mesh blah blah
i hope that simi rant helped anyones questions get put to rest
Sorry, didnt find an answer. but it looks like the cape is covering a medium size box around my bum... its like proper box shape whatever i do. but it disappears when i draw the weapon...
i have the edited esp file and took the red colour as well from the optional folder..
When I equip the cape, it sticks out a bit from my character's shoulders. The texture stretches to make contact and the cape appears in the right place if I use player-resetting commands like showracemenu and sexchange, but snaps back to it's offset position right away. Any idea what might be going on?
There is one problem with this mod though I wonder if anybody already know, is that when adding [Verlet] lines to the Skyrim.ini it makes Unrelenting Force bugged. The Shout doesn't push away people and creatures immediately but instead it stagger them for about 3s and then it push them away, which bothers me because it's my favorite shout in the game. But anyway, great mod! The cape is very cool and so prime-feel!
I have now learnt that the cape behaves differently if you have lower fps when it clips around way more often and looks a little weird where with a higher fps like 40 - 60 it'll work normally so I won't be using the cape until I get enough money for a good computer and get rid of my shitty laptop.
I followed the instructions, edited the ini. file after downloading, saved ini. edit, and now the cape is weird, it looks like I have I bigger invisible ass, but it seems to disappear whenever I ready a weapon or spell. Did I dun f*** up?
Downloaded this mod, installed by NMM and ... doesnt work. Similar problem have with other realistic cape's animation mod. What meaby is important I have a mod "Cloaks of Skyrim by Noodles" which adds additional capes. No errors detected in the NMM's plug in menu. What I did wrong ? :/
I had this problem too, and it was bright pink. I went back to the older one, and it fixed color and position, but now it has no physics. I'm clueless as to what is happening here.

for thoth who think the upper part of the cape is too stiff you can mess around with the walue in that line
uCapeClothNumPin=96
setting it lower will make a bigger part of the cape have physics
you can also mess around with the gravity by editing the walue here
fGravity=-1000.0000
What I did wrong ? :/
