I've now found that the call of duty 4 modern warfare works well also, pros and cons though, sometimes occasionally a bit patchy with the shadowing, and i noticed it has a similar problem like the fog issue only its with snow this time. Going to run through all the options see which one is best. And you need the new beta drivers from nvidia to get the options to show with all games and you also need nvidia inspector to get to these options in the first place. The fog lines are most noticeable in the skyrim default profile and a bit in the oblivion one, like many others on other forums I wouldn't recommend using they ones. Most seem to agree the call of duty 4 modern warfare one is best. Also to those not seeing difference in game, have you got nvidia inspector ? the profile might be set to something skyrim doesn't support, noticed not all profiles work i.e. show any difference in game.
Anyone else having trouble getting the new Nvidia Beta driver, within the nvidia tray, to apply AO? Maybe because its because I'm using the 4GB launcher?
I'm having no trouble applying AO using the Inspector. Just wondering if I'm the only one, or missing something obvious. What is REALLY odd is that it worked out of the nvidia tray for about 30 minutes, and looked great...but not since.
Also, does having read-only ticked on my skyrimprefs.ini effect any of this?
thanks in advance!
EDIT: nvm...problem fixed...just changing settings, re-changing, and eventually kicked in
Doesn't work for me either - I took comparison screenshots and they're pixel-identical. I'm using a modified EXE file so I thought that may be the cause, however when I select something like transparency-AA in the TESV.EXE game profile page, it applies in-game correctly, so I'm really stumped.
Did you add TESV.exe.4gb to the profile? If using the 4GB launcher, this is what actually gets launched (or did, until the new version with different default behavior).
Using the modern warfare 3 setting in the nvidia inspector and my fog issue's are now completely gone ">
I love this option but there are so many people recommending so many settings. Which is the best AO profile setting, Fallout 3, Modern Warfare 3, or Oblivion, and why is the default Skyrim AO profile setting a bad one? You seem to indicate fog issues. What exactly did you see, and under what AO profile setting?
