Had Waves 3 + Pure Waters for a very long time, but waves suddenly stopped working. Water is just flat and usual everywhere. I even found the specific places from screenshots (to exclude realistic placement issues) and there were still no waves.
Changed nothing, did nothing. Any way to fix? Where to begin to look for a problem?
Anyone happen to know what the dirty edits are? I'm seeing waves and splashes just fine in my game. And I have Realistic Water 2 installed as well. And I have Spray installed (with its patch).
I'm using Waves 4.
Nevermind. I guess this mod is supposed to add way more waves than what I am seeing on the north shore. XEdit shows that this mod removes the region labels everywhere. And its waves look way worse than SPRAY's waves do. While clicking on one of the waves, the name "Headsman NPC" was displayed. There was no such body to be found. So I'm removing this mod to save an ESP slot.
Yes, be me too say´d LOOT that this mod had so much dirty edits that it is corupted and I should delete it, but it was NOT truth !!! It was enough to just clean it with tes5Edit and it was all OK. :)
Ok, I have tried RW2 waves and Waves waves. I have tried them together and separately, and with SPRAY. Here is my opinion:
-If you want beautiful waves that are carefully placed so as to overlap as little as possible (overlapping waves get weird seams), work extremely well with Ramccoid's SPRAY (so misty!), and have appropriately loud and realistic sound fx, use RW2. I've used that one for quite some time, and have been very pleased with it. Yes, the color is greener than the rest of the ocean, but it's not that big a deal. -If you want big, deep waves that line the coast in a realistic way, use Waves. I'm going with Waves now myself, and though I wish the soundfx were better and the spray looked more natural, I really, REALLY like that Prometheus put a ton of waves where they make the most sense on the coastline, exactly where you'd expect to see them. The overlap on the individual waves looks kinda janky, and the sound is weak, but oh man, it just FEELS RIGHT to me. RW2 puts the waves in appropriate places as well, but there aren't as many of them, which doesn't feel as natural. And I love how the big swells rise up and practically swamp my horse! Waves creates a feeling of oceanic power that RW2 does not. -If you want to combine them you can, but the two wave meshes overlap and give the impression of an epic amoeba fight going on at the water's edge. Here's the load order (thanks to GameDuchess!): "If you do RWT, then Waves, then SPRAY with the RWT textures... it actually works out about as well as I think you can get for waves with spray that match up with the RWT water. A little brightness and discoloration under certain skies here and there, but pretty good I think." -One last thing - don't just install the cleaned .esp file on top of the old file. Unzip them both, throw out the old .esp, insert the new esp, and zip them back up. Worked much better for me with MO2. Good luck!
How did you fix it? I installed the #4 splash waves, and they definitely aren't splashing! UPDATE: I unzipped the Waves file and the Cleaned .esp file, threw out the dirty .esp and zipped the files back up. Then reinstalled. Then I reinstalled Ramccoid's Little Things and chose the Waves textures from the Spray menu. Now I see splashes!
