@Arisen1: Hey, your mod is really, really beautiful!... Endorse It
I agree with what Wauthan said: the White Marble version is the best but sometimes the intensity of the reflected light is overpowered, especially if you are using Enhanced Lights. See the image below:
Thank you, Lucasssvt. I've never used any indoor lighting mods, so thanks for letting me know. I made a bunch of other colors though, just in case folks had bright lights. I might eventually attempt to darken the white one, even though my previous attempts turned it very purple.
does this affect the textures for the dwemer ruins in skyrim? or does it work with dragonborn dlc too? cause that grey looks pretty sexy. for marble i mean. don't judge me [laughs]. nah but seriously, thanks.
Thanks!! Haha, I'm sure it would...assuming that the Dragonborn DLC dwemer textures are the same as the ones throughout the rest of the game. I would have to double check in the DLC to make sure, but I'm fairly certain that they will.
EDIT: Just revisited a Dwemer ruin in Solstheim. And, yes! It does indeed work. It actually looks really awesome too! The environment gives it a lovely reddish tint.
thanks for responding, i actually found out that the skaal village uses the whiterun textures, and unfortunately it can look a little out of place (damn u and your ignorance bethesda). i just thought it was worth a mention, so that people could know what to expect
That is how they do most DLC's, in order to save some space. I know that the marketplace for Xbox 360 will only allow up to 2 gb for DLC's, and audio takes up a great bulk of it, so Bethesda keeps that in mind when they make most of their DLC's....just recycling all pre-existing resources to build new stuff with. I'll never forget downloading Frostcrag Manor for Oblivion on my Xbox 360, and I remember how small the download size was....about 214kb, or something like that. I could not figure out how they were able to build something so vast, in such a small space....and now I know. And yes....laziness is also a key factor. xD That's why I am so glad there are such good mods, to make up for Bethesda's lack of productivity. And I do applaud Bethesda for endorsing mods in the first place....that is the only thing that is allowing for me to continue buying their games.
Just dropped back to see if you were still thinking about making a sand colored version. Even though I really like your white marble, which looks spectacular in the snowy regions and crazy classy when inside, the intensity of the reflected light can be a bit overwhelming at times. The interior design assumes dark backgrounds after all. And it sometimes looks a bit too clean at times. Though it's amazing how much the details, and shadows, stand out now.
I will...eventually. Unfortunately, all of the sand colors that I tried to make were either red looking, or pink looking. It's hard to figure out what it will look like in-game, when I recolor them.
I wanted to show off your black textures. At first, I didn't like it much, but now I think it dresses up the place nicely. I use the HCAD mod. You can build your house anywhere. He has 9 different styles to choose from and this is the Dwemer. (Waiting for the green)
@Wauthan Thanks for the pictures. Very nice! I looked at that "Nicer Vlindrel Hall" mod, and the colors are definitely nice and warm. That's kind of what I've done in my game too...I've mixed my textures together to give it some variety. I might add reddish, or sand colored textures soon. Also, I like that "Kagrenac's Instant Fortress" mod. Neat little concept. I might try it out..
Added some images from my favorite player home mod "Kagernacs Instant Fortress". I like the warm effect created by all the brass ornaments against the cold white marble. Looks very classy.
Curious if you are considering creating more textures, or combine textures so details stand out? Personally I would be happy to see a tan, light reddish brown, version of your light marble textures. I know that marble is never that color but I really enjoyed the cozy warm appearance of the "Nicer Vlindrel Hall" by Decembria.

Edit: I meant to mention I added a screenshot.
