I'm not really a loremaster per se, though I've picked up a bit since I have played Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind. The absolute best exploration of Skyrim-specific lore I ever read I'll summarize as follows:
As you play Skyrim, you begin to realize that you are just too important in the game world. You perform tasks and make deals with all the major Daedric Princes. Actually, there's a huge conflict over who exactly owns your soul. Are you an Orc? Malacath. A vampire? Molag Bal. A werewolf? Hircine. A nightingale? Nocturnal. Etc.
So what if you are a Vampire-Werewolf Orc Nightingale? Hmm? Ever think about that one? Who gets your soul?
One loremaster postulates that NONE of the Aedra or Daedra do, because YOU -- THE DRAGONBORN -- ARE ACTUALLY AN INCARNATION OF LORKHAN THE TRICKSTER GOD. And you are basically going around screwing with all the Aedra and Daedra and beating them all at their own game.
It's a great twist... which that loremaster backed up with copious references. I forget his name, but this theory has become canon for me. It's why I'm not using this otherwise interesting looking mod.
Well, I don't see how the Dovahkiin could be Lorkhan... But really, having the soul of a dovah since the biggening, the Dovahkiin should return to Akatosh...
The idea is good, but in fact, Dovakin remains a servant of Nocturnal. Here is a replica of one of the players: "I have a mod that shows which factions I am in. As before, the game considers me the defender of Nocturnal and counts me in the nightingales."
It don't works for me, have I get first guildmaster to summon her, a bit of explination would be nice You have to be Guild Master and then you can summon Nocturnal.
I haven't forgotten or abandon anything, was having a New Year break, will be getting back to modding now. Porting to PC and XBox1 isn't that difficult with my mods, it's testing afterwards that takes most of time and effort.
Hey I was wondering when you would get around porting the mod for SE, I would really really love having it and I've been stalking your profiles for a while(don't call the cops!).
hi i have a question about this mod, if you do the Thieves Guild questline, decided to stop being a Nightingale and then do the main questline does it affects the dialogue options in Sovngarde?, as far as i remember before entering Shor's Hall Tsun asks you what makes you worth of it and you can choose a response based on the guild questlines you have finished, for example you can say you are the Harbringer for the Companions, the Archmage for the College of Winterhold, the Listener for the Dark Brotherhood or a Nightingale for the Thieves Guild, my question is by stopping being a Nightingale before going to Sovngarde does it removes the dialogue option from Tsun?, because i hope it does since it would break my immersion to still be able to choose that even after severing all ties to Nocturnal, also i have another question i used this mod once before and managed to finish the Thieves Guild questline once even making my character to quit being a Nightingale and like the description said the Nightingale Armor was removed from my inventory but not the blade or the bow, is that supposed to happen? or was it an error on my end?, i hope you guys can help me.
I am - as per usual late to the party....but Nocturnal didn't give you either the blade or the bow. They came from Karliah as gifts so no reason why you would lose them.
Thanks for making this. I was looking at this one and at No to Nocturnal -which also appeals and looks perfectly fine - but I decided on this one as it doesn't change the vanilla questline at all, just adds something afterwards. I also like the idea of striking a bargain with Nocturnal to be freed as that seems to be lore friendly. Always play the thief questline as I enjoy the main pursuit quest a lot - but HATED having to sell my soul to some female with attitude in a scanty robe, if I HAD to go to a daedra I'd rather be one of Hircine's hunting dogs than mooching around in some realm of endless mist and murk. The big gaping plot hole in the entire Bethesda pursuit questline is that it completely ignores what the player has been doing - in my game I ignore the bee farm thing for ages and do Vex and Delvins jobs instead, by the time I get to do the pursuit quest the thieves guild is back on its feet anyway or well on the way to being so - in spite of, or maybe because of, Nocturnals apparent absence.
you get the best two combat swords from the thief quests lmao, on top of some multiple lengthy and gritty combat dungeons. there was almost no thieving involved there was like 2 quests for actual thievery skillset which was golden estate and markarth, the rest don't require any subtlety or stealth.

I made an evilish character who hates the daedra.
I was invited to join the thieves guild. "Cool, that fits my character perfectly!"
And you know the rest of the story... worst. questline. ever.
