Shields are so useful! for starters, you can double enchant them with resistant enchants, they can block arrows with the perk, you can get an additional 50% resistance to all elements of magic. That last one alone is reason enough to use shields.
So you made a mod that makes shields useless??? I'm so confused. o.O Why wear the shield then??
how are they useless? they still block damage, just not as much. still allow you to level block and use it's perks. so please explain how it's useless.
@Soutear Oh, don't you say~ I found this the hard way, after having edited a mod in the ck to give me an armorless block accessory. XP I'm using "staves of skyrim" for my mage blocking tools, which not only looks nice, but it's also very useful. [ie: not just a blocking stick]
Shields can be enchanted for having fire, frost, shock, magic resistance so I can't really understand your point of view about it.
About how durable they are,Skyrim keeps them unbreakable so...
About stamina drain, realistically speaning holding blocked a shield maybe gives some fatigue but at very small level, for this to be acomplished in this game scripting required, don't know if its worth it.
In theory shield should have no armor bonus, since its purpose is to block blows / projectiles . Base on quality of material its made out of, it should grant more durable before it breaks. Than as the quality of the material changes it should grant resistance vs fire/cold/lightning and so on/ while block mode is on. On top of it having shield equipped should drain stamina based on the shield weight and material type. just my 2 septims
just added a small note to teh discription page, blockign still reduces damage, but not as much as before, since the armor rating was part of the blocked damage formula.
In my experience, shields are the only type of items that, despite having armor rating, do not take mage armor perk bonuses away. Many of my pure mage characters didn't loose mage armor stats with any standard shield equipped and being used. This should be stated in these perks' description but isn't, and leads to confusion..
To tell you the truth , for realism and only shields don't provide extra armor buff their purpose is blocking so I'm glad for your shared mod. You give us a nice choice here.
