Important! This Mod requires the latest version of SKSE. If you dont know about SKSE check out Gopher's video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTGnQIiNVqA

This mod does NOT work with Console Controllers at the moment.

Glitches in 0.92 to be fixed asap.

.The FOV is changing just before the scope effect kicks in.

.You will get a small 'imageBloom' when you stop using the scope (only really noticeable at night).

.This is a legacy effect of the .Nif I'm using (the ISM's didn't only try to hide the menu).

.A mouse arrow will flash up for a second.

What is this Mod?
Add's non combat/non Bow zoom options for the Player in the guise of Lore Friendly craftable Telescopes.

It also works a treat with this mod by Ecceau, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30816

MODELS AND TEXTURES

Big up's to Jack8623 and acidzebra for turning me on to these Modders Resources, (especially jack8623, sorry again for being a dunce mate!)

Big thanks to Salvador7 for pointing me towards Insanity's Junk Yard.

Two Telescopes and Textures by InsanitySorrow!

These Meshes and Texures are part of TESA's Skyrim Resource Kit, full credit to them for excellent work.
Please remember to credit them again if you use them.

Dwemer Spy Glass by Insanity Sorrow!

These Meshes and Texures are part of Insanity's Junk Yard over on TESA, full credit to him for excellent work.
Please remember to credit InsanitySorrow again if you use them.

REMEMBER: Bigger and better models and textures use more resources and may slow things down. While the basic leather and lens version isn't the best model/texture your ever going to see it is an absolutely tiny file and should work a treat on low end systems.

How do I get it?
Craftable at any forge under Leather:

1xFlawless Diamond -Main Lens

1xDiamond -Secondary Lens

1xGoldIngot -Soft metal for lens frames
1xLeather -Case
1xLeatherStrips -Stitching

(or use console; "help telescope 4")

("help spyglass 4" for the dwemer spyglass)

The Iron model replace the Leather items with an Iron ingot.

The Dwarven models replace them with a dwarven ingot AND they require the 'Dwarven Smithing Perk'

How do I use it?

Short Version:
Just imagine it's a shield and when you block you activate it.

There are two zooms you can flick through while activated, standing and crouching. Just tap Ctrl while zooming to switch between the two.

Stop blocking to deactivate.

Your movement is resticted while activated but your 'pan view' is not (just like when blocking with a shield). By necessity whatever is in your right hand on activation will be unequiped.

Long Version

Once crafted you will find it under Armor. right click to equip (as you would with any shield).

In game, once equipped, press and HOLD right mouse button to activate (just like blocking)
While activated you are free to pan your view around, player movement is restricted.

While activated there are two zooms

Standing: Get the best possible vantage point and Zoom.

Crouching: While hiding, you are not able to maximise your vantage point. Zoom suffers.

Release right mouse button to deactivate.

The two things this mod WILL NOT do!

1:Give you the perfect Telescope.

The script may take a second to fire and/or close. (Depending on how many scripts are running, how 'busy' your loaded cells are, how many mods your running and so on.)
Really It's how good your system is that will determine the speed and smoothness of the zoom effect.
What you see through the Telescope depends on your Display settings. uGrids, LOD's all that kind of stuff. this mod doesn't touch them, only FOV.

2.Completely screw your custom FOV settings and Save games set to a lower uGrids.
Dont panic! The mods script reads your FOV ini setting and returns it to the original value when it's done.

Installation

Click the Download with Manager button in the files section to download to NMM.
Activate the mod in NMM.

To manually install, just download the file and extract the files into the data folder.

Compatibilty:
Fully compatible with SKYUI, IHUD and all that other cool stuff you may think will explode if you download this mod. I use them as well, so no worries.

Recommended Mod's

Check out this mod by Ecceau,

You can use it with this one to.....
.....Perceive information on your target's distance, experience, aggression, race, armor and weapon by using the Guess Distance power (or spell) on your target (use a telescope for far away targets)...
It's a really nifty mod, go support and endorse if you like it!

Enhanced Distant Terrain is a given to improve your enjoyment of this mod.

I sort of built this this mod to help with Warzones: Civil unrest,
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9494

making the game so sodding hard, yet unwilling to remove it because, you know, it's excellent.
