+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This mod does work with Console Controllers but...
You have to give whatever button your using to to open/close the character menu a quick DOUBLE TAP to fire the zoom. Everything's Sweat with keyboard and mouse.
If you can't be bothered to read this and come posting 'WAA, this don't work with controllers', your post will be deleted out of hand.
I just have to start doing this if peeps can't/won't read simple instructions.

REMEMBER: Bigger and better models, textures, animations and scripted effects use more resources and may slow things down. If you having serious delays/problems roll back to version 0.92 and contact me.
HOW DO I GET THE ANIMATED SCOPES?
Craftable at any forge under Iron and/or Dwarven
1xFlawless Diamond -Main Lens 1xDiamond -Secondary Lens 1xGoldIngot -Soft metal for lens frames 1xIron Ingot (or Dwarven Ingot AND Dwarven Smithing Perk) -Case
(or use console; "help telescope 4".
The Basic leather version has a reduced zoom effect and reduced crafting requirements.
Craftable at any forge under Leather:
1xRefined Malachite -Main and Secondary Lens 1xGoldIngot -Soft metal for lens frames 1xLeather -Case 1xLeatherStrips -Stitching
HOW DO I USE IT?
Once crafted you will find it under Armor. Right click to equip (as you would with any shield). In game once equipped, ready the telescope then press and HOLD right mouse button to activate (just like blocking) The animated telescopes will open/close depending on if they are 'ready' or 'sheathed' (the default keyboard 'R' button) While activated you are free to pan your view around, player movement is restricted.
While activated there are two zooms and three weather effects
Zooms. Standing: Get the best possible vantage point and Zoom. Crouching: While hiding, you are not able to maximise your vantage point. Zoom suffers.
Weather effects.
In clear weather your scope is clear and any recticles/crosshairs your using, like those that come with Ecceau's 'Guess the Distance - Perceptive Scouting' will work (once you have reinstalled them over 0.93.)
In Rain you will loose your recticle/crosshairs and your vision is obscured.
In Snow you will loose your recticle/crosshairs and your vision is severely obscured.
Release right mouse button to deactivate.
Check out '0.93' under forums tab for more.
Bug Report:
I've just noticed that if your inside and the weather outside is rain or snow, the weather effects still kick in. I'm thinking using the scopes inside Dwemer ruins here.
Edit: Once again it's Volvaga0 to the rescue! He's sorted the script out and it will be implemented in the next release. Thanks Dude.
Hey there, I'm currently running the SE port of this mod and have a couple visual issues. My best guess is the Comprehensive First Person Animation Overhaul, but I can't be sure. Any ideas? - https://imgur.com/a/2sovlNs
okay, update: I Finally fixed my telescope appearing in front of the overlay, as well as this I discovered what was causing the telescope screen discoloration/transparency, it was my enb! The biggest problems down, now I'm just left with the zoom issue. When standing I zoom in too far, causing the overlay to be cut off by my actual screen. Can I fix this?
I believe I found a conflict. I just installed SkyrimSouls (unpauses game menus) and it seems to have removed the screen zoom from this mod's telescopes. Instead, it just showed the entire black square graphic with a small hole in the middle without zooming in at all. I tried adjusting the settings but couldn't fix it. I'm not sure if the solution would be on your end, or the other mod's.
I've found your telescopes to be very useful, and I plan to keep using them! Hopefully there's some way to make these two mods work together.
Edit: Tried double-tapping, just in case (I'm on mouse & keyboard). No dice.
If I understood more about scripting, I'm sure that would make a lot more sense to me.
For those interested, I found a "solution" by rolling back SkyrimSouls to version 1.0.0.1. I haven't tested extensively for bugs though. Be sure to save often.
hi dear KettleWitch i create telescope and i can zoom but i have other problem in game poor vision i Can't see more than 10-15 meters ahead when i zoom everything...how describe this situation for you? i can not see useful thing, unloaded landscape can you guide me? thank you so much
Thank you, I was going to try it although with doubts, just tried to see how it can be used, it would be fun, but I just recently installed skyrimsoul, thanks for leaving this tip. because i prefer skyrimsoul. although in the skyrimsoul ini file you can change which menus are paused and which are not.anyway thanks to KettleWitch for the mod it looks great.
Hello there, KW! I installed this mod but it didn't work, I only see a small black screen with hole-with mouse and keyboard, I have read your tips. Then I use another savefile and it works. After some tests, I discover this mod can't with Immersive First Person View. (But do work with Jaxonz Zoom and Enchanted Camera, strangely)
oh man this mod is insanely great!!! now all somone needs to do is somehow attach this to a crossbow and were set! or a rifle.. think I saw a musket mod somewhere
Thanks very much for this mod! In case anyone is wondering, it works on SSE once you run the meshes through Nif optimizer and re-save the .esp in the SSE creation kit. So far i have not encountered any significant problems, crafts without issue, when used it does seem to take a second to switch into telescope view when you hold the right mouse button, i don't remember if this was the case on oldrim as well, might just be the other script heavy mods i got.
I have a problem, I think is a bug, when I use the telescope, even without the zoom when I stop, the camera it change, and looks like it's on the shoulder of my character, and no matter what I do I can not fix it D:
