Trying so so hard...streaming games and also making channel art for people. If you need a channel rebrand or thumbnails, please DM me.

I have returned to streaming after 5 years to try and at least pay for my dinner each night. I want to thank everyone who has supported me during this really difficult time. Streaming has been helping me as it keeps me busy and helps me meet new people and pass time and have a laugh, temporarily forgetting my problems.

If you want to help me further, a simple way is to subscribe to my channel and come to some of the streams, or even simply leave the streams up to help me get my watch time up so I can be monetized sooner.

Please visit my channel, I would appreciate the support!

    https://www.youtube.com/@Masked_Official

Below are some examples of my silly content! I have also added some timestamps of funny moments. I hope you guys like the thumbnails and channel branding!

Please like and subscribe! Streaming and selling my services (thumbnails/graphics/branding/logos) is now my full-time job.

    Asking for your help. Please.

It sucks asking for help, but I don't know where else to go. This is one of
the most downloaded mods on the Nexus and I spent almost a decade
working on this and other mods on this site. I have replied to over 5000
questions and did all this during a severe illness that has rendered me
    disabled to this day.

While I am alive and kicking, I also have two small children and I am a single parent. I know it sucks reading
people ask for help and I don't mean to sound envious but there are
people who are creating collections earning THOUSANDS a month on Patreon while modders of the mods they use earn peanuts. These
collections are also totally bypassing our mod pages so direct donations
no longer happen. My goal is to have enough patrons so I can get back
to modding, open the comment section and support the mod again. It's
just hard when the reward is so minor and the demand is so high.

I earn about $30-60 a month on my mod (I am happy to prove this) and I
believe it's in the top 20 or so most downloaded mods of all time. Yet
collection creators have discords with thousands of people, and hundreds
of patrons earning up to $3000 a month. Absolute insanity when the real
work was done by us, the mod authors.

I am having severe financial issues and I am literally begging here for help. I don't own a
phone, I don't even have more than a few pair of pants and a couple of
shirts. My car recently broke down and I can't even afford to repair it.
My son just had his birthday and I couldn't even afford a proper gift. I
just repaired an old computer of mine and let him use it, and we got a
    cheap cake from the store.

If anyone can help, PLEASE DONATE as it would take a lot of stress off me and give my kids and I some
freedom. I can't leave my house much without transport, I feel isolated
and depressed. I have spoken to One Door Mental health for some support
but they can only help me with speaking to therapists. I will be honest,
I haven't left my home in 6 months.

Please check my Patreon below or donate directly if you can. My goal is to just get a cheap car
so I can once again leave the house, visit family and feel like a normal
    human being.
I am sorry if this upsets anyone, but I dunno what else to do.
The direct donation link should be on the mod page and my patreon is below.
If I got $1 for every unique person that downloaded my mod, I would
make $40,000 a month - my life would be changed forever.
    Please help.

I just want to thank those who have already joined the Patreon.

My health is not the greatest right now. It's been an ongoing issue now since 2007. My life was saved with 5 surgeries back in 2014 but many
      problems exist.

I still have two small children and I am a single parent. Covid and inflation has just made things so difficult, especially on minimum wage government payments. It has reached a point where I feel like I need to get back to modding despite my health issues just to somehow get more support. This isn't easy for me because people think I earn a lot from the mod but I really don't.

So once again, thank you to those who have joined the Patreon. It's been almost 10 years of offering this mod, supporting it and I still answer
all the DM's I am getting - and I do get MANY. They are usually kind comments, so it's heart warming at least and an improvement from past
      difficulties with the community.

      So thank you once again.

After many ungrateful and the vast amount of private messages I am getting. I am locking comments to this mod.

I no longer care about endorsements, I don't care about downloads and I don't care about any so called "fame" around being a modder.

It was a lot of hard work and people don't realise it. It was many years ago and I have supported it through tough times.

This mod is now available as modders resource.

Since everyone tells me how they could make this mod better, or how my last update was so awful, then go ahead.

    TAKE THE MOD.

    This means the following;

Anyone can take the mod, edit it and upload it as their own. You can even upload it without a single edit and call it "Tom's best ever lighting mod" and pretend you did it. I.do.not.care any more. I am sick of people thinking that I am in some massive modding rivalry or that this is the most important thing in my life and I grovel over it every day. I don't. At the same time, it pains me to read troll like comments here, reddit and other places STILL going on about this mod and about me.

So I am finally just letting go of it all.

It can be uploaded, edited and even put on Xbox or Play Station. People keep trying to steal this mod anyway - and many people come to me and complain about the DRM that is encoded in the mod. Well tough luck. It was put there to stop thieves. Now you can have the mod, but you have to find your own work around for it. The programmer who made this is no longer someone I talk to. So you can work it out with him.

This also means any patch, any portion of the mod can be used in any part or form to fulfill your desire.

Take my 2000 hours of work, and use it as a shortcut to complete your own mod.

    Enjoy.

Please do not message me in private - I will not respond.

I am officially retired from modding and have little concern with issues regarding it.

I have devoted a good chunk of my life to this mod, but the effort to reward is very low and there are numerous people who have benefited more than me on this work. Including the sites its been uploaded to, and people who have made YouTube videos on it.

I am just happy to be kicking on still in life and there are more important things to me than reading negative comments from entitled people.

Rather than deleting the mod entirely, I have decided to give it to anyone who wants it. I am not a total a**hole, so I won't delete it.

Steal it, take it, edit whatever you want - I don't even need any credit. It does not matter to me. So now EVERYONE can benefit from the mod.

It is now officially modders resource. You have Full permission to do whatever you want with the mod.

    Comments are now locked.

It was a fun ride (not really).

    RLO 5.0.2 is out!!!

    PLEASE NOTE!!!

The main plugins for v5 and upwards require All DLCs except Hearthfire, only RLO - Effects and RLO - Illuminated Spells can be used without DLC. All this is stated in the installer. If you're missing DLCs then you can use v4.0.8.

    Introducing a number of features!

After a long hard road 5.0 is out.

I want to thank everyone for the patience during such a troubled time for me. This time my health is what I would call fine, but it's home life and depression that has kicked my teeth in. I am however very happy with not only my personal contribution to 5.0 (as I thought I would never work on RLO again) but to the contribution of people like Edwin and Shana who have made 5.0 are far more complex and enjoyable version.

Many ideas I had thought of years ago, have finally made it to the mod and while it is just a start - it is making RLO's future that little bit brighter.

Again I thank you all for your patience.

What does it do in a nutshell?

    Version 5.0.3

    - The NPC added by DLT (Abrecan) has been corrected for the dark face bug.

    - The No Guard Torch Utility in RLO Exteriors has been updated and is now On by default, you may turn it off if you wish through the RLO Options menu found under powers.

    - The WizBAIN Installer has been heavily updated and revised by EAGnR, and it should work very similarly to the Fomod installer now.

    - Candle smoke and flame textures from RLO Effects have been updated to be more realistic, credits to LupusHegemonia.

    - RLO plugins including patches have been organized, and had their masters sorted.

Version 5.0.2 (initial release for Oldrim)

RLO v5 ported over to 32-bit Creation Kit, organized and cleaned up plugin records, USKP changes passed over, plugin masters updated, and fomod updated. Tested on Oldrim without issues.

Please report any oddities. Thank you.

Below are the changes made for the SSE version but also has info pertaining to the Oldrim release.

    Version 5.0.1

    - USSEP changes that were missing have been carried over to RLO Exteriors and Interiors.

    - IC and CRF patches have been revised for errors. The IC patch now prevents Embry from clipping with fire brazier at the Riverwood bridge.

    - RLO Effects meshes have been optimized with the SSE NIF Optimizer utility. This can possibly help those who had been experiencing fps drops due to the smoke effects.

    Version 5.0

Major City Interiors, Minor City/Town Interiors, and Dungeons + Dwemer Lighting Technology (DLT):
    - Many new interiors, as well as several redone major interiors.
    - True color imagespaces with no tints, which show actual texture colors and deeper blacks (ENB Friendly).
    - Fixed orange fog and ambient lighting.
    - The DLT module brings you intricate Dwemer lighting contraptions with interesting new lore behind them. (DLT Locations: Markarth Understone Keep, more locations coming in future updates based on suggestions.)

Major City Exteriors, Minor City/Town Exteriors, and No Guard Torches Utility (Helps Prevent Flickering):
    - Several redone major cities.
    - Realistic new towns with a lived-in feeling.
    - The No Guard Torches Utility can be found in the Magic Menu under Powers, and when activated it will dynamically remove torches from guards at night.

    RLO Effects:
    - Improved candles, torches, and embers.
    - New realistic candle and torch smoke effects.

    RLO Illuminated Spells:
    - Spells will produce light and illuminate your sorroundings.

There is a bunch more stuff added to the mod, so check it out!

For removing guard torches to prevent flickering, RLO Exteriors now provides a Guard Torch Removal Utility found as a spell in the powers menu under "RLO Exteriors: Options".

This utility dynamically removes guard torches from inventories without editing leveled lists. Especially useful for existing saves that already have guards with spawned torches, as those can't really be removed by modifying leveled lists. Essentially the script will always be able to remove guard torches when you need it to. You can clean out entire cities, towns, and paths from guards with torches while the utility is active (it is On by default).

Hint: To aim at a specific guard with a torch then just get really close to him, this will tell the script to check the closest guard, and then it will check the surrounding area.

To prevent any torches from respawning in guard inventories later on then you can use this mod which edits the leveled lists of all guards: Guard Torch Remover - Reduced Light Flickering (Not necessary to keep Skyrim guard torch free, but it's an extra measure for those who want it.)

I asked on the SSE mod versions of both Vivid Weathers and RLO, asked on reddit, asked on discord of skyrimmods, and no answers were given to my question so im asking here in hopes of maybe someone can clarify to me a few things..

So Realistic Lighting Overhaul SSE v4 has the weathers esp, while v5 doesnt have it.. since i plan to use vivid weathers and RLO, i need to do the right way to make both compatible...

RLO author says disable the weather modules.. i assume the seasonal module(located on folder 02 Seasons) from vivid weathers is the one i disable since v5 of RLO doesnt have any weathers esp?? if not the weather modules from Vivid Weathers v4, then how do i disable the weather plugins from RLO v5?? and btw, im manual installing things as i prefer not to use mod installers...

This answer is probably too late, but the weather modules you are referring to is a feature of older RLO releases. The new RLO 5 doesn't have weathers, it's mostly an interior lighting mod. Just install your Weather mod of choice and then install RLO for the interiors.
P.s. Mod Managers make your life much easier :P

      Again quite late, but...
      ...Realistic Lighting Overhaul SSE...

This should have been asked on the RLO SSE page since this mod is for LE, not SSE.

For me the dungeon lighting of 4.0.8.2 or 4.0.8.1 is way better than in 5.0.3 (which is so bright you don't need a light source). And my last game 2013/2014 was with 4.0.7c so i can't and won't adapt myself to brighter dungeons. The interior lights of 5.0.3 are better than in 4.0.8.2 or 1 but they have a bit to much ambient light for my taste. Strangely the exterior lighting seems not working for me at all. The lightsources are there but the light/brightness is like the vanilla game (tested it without a weathermod). I did a lot of comparisons today and yesterday with the above mentioned versions (except 4.0.7c), ELFX and Relighting Skyrim and atm the best compromise seems to be ELFX with enhancer (or even hardcore) for me. The enhancer especially because the dungeons are darker and more like 4.0.8.2.
So for me it is like: Why don't stick with 4.0.8.2? Because some of the interiors are a bit to dark, 5.0.3 is better choice here and i don't know what incompatibilities with other mods could occur due to it's old state. Any why not with 5.0.3? Because of the dungeon lighting.

Here are some comparison gifs i made. Maybe that helps someone to see what to expect. Time was always around midnight and 1am. The order is always Vanilla - ELFX without enhancer - RLO 5.0.3 - ELFX with enhancer - RLO 4.0.8.2

Firstly we don't edit weathers - I said this a billion times by now. So you won't get exterior "brightness' or 'darkness' levels or any changes to weather. Exterior esp just changes/adds lighting placements to all cities and many towns.

I can't make everyone happy. I had more people complain about the v4's being too dark - so we bumped the general ambient lighting for all interiors for v5. I make one change, people complain and I make another change and people complain. I am not a machine or a slave - if you want darker interiors - it is easy to do. Grab yourself xedit - and go to the imagespaces or light templates and lower the brightness integers. I could do it, but then I would have 20+ more versions of the mod to maintain, not only confusing people who already struggle to install RLO (even though it pretty much installs itself) but it would still not make everyone happy - as with around 2 million users in a few years of RLO's life - I still wouldn't make enough versions to cater for every single persons monitor setups, pc setups, personal taste and more.

I have made RLO modular so you (if you know what you are doing) can pick and chose ANY lighting mod you want and mix and match specific components. I honestly would just say PICK ONE mod and stick to it. I personally prefer ELFX over RLO because I like fantasy lighting - and RLO is more of a performance/realism mod with a balance between the latter and play-abilty.

Hope this doesn't sound antagonistic in any way - but I get people showing me comparison images and complain about everything. Just play the game, pick a mod and enjoy it. Over the years too many people focus on "rivalries' and always talk about other mods and focus on comparing everything. We can't make mods SPECIFIC for YOU. Modding wasn't made to create fan bases that argue over whats better and what X or Y mod should do because Z mod has done it similar to how you want it to be.

Mods are there so you can enjoy the game you love a little longer - and we do it from our hearts - spending THOUSANDS of hours on them without asking for anything. I have worked on RLO since 2012 - 7 years of my life. Endorsements, rivalries and more have become meaningless to me - I just want people to enjoy their experience in Skyrim. So if you don't like RLO or it doesn't meet your expecations - your best bet is to just find a mod that DOES. It won't hurt my feelings, it won't make me return to RLO and make more edits to make a handful of people happy. Sorry but I won't happen.

There are awesome lighting mods out there, ELFX, Relighing Skyrim, RCRN, Climates of Tamriel and more. Try them all out, see what mod fits your needs and then learn how to use xedit and pick what components you like and mix and match them.

      Hope this helps!

      Have a happy new year!

Hi, thx for the reply. No i don't take youre answer as antagonistic and i'm well aware that a mod never can satisfy anyone. I just was posting my opinion, that's all. And if i didn't like RLO i wasn't here and would't have used the mod when i played the last game. The gifs are just for ppl who doesn't know the mods well enough and i think you get a good first glance and impression via such gifs. That doesn't mean you get the full taste of a mod but that should be clear.

      Also a happy new year!

In classic Skyrim the weather mod I think might match the best would be the Classic version of Purity (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65242), as it gives a clean, clear overhaul of the weathers with darker nights but does not have the "sunglasses" effect darker mods often have, and doesn't lower fps. I think it might be one of the better weather matches to the RLO lighting.

i would suggest trying it if you are looking for a weather mod to use with RLO.

Hmm a lot of backlash from this latest update, and I have to say RLO is much brighter then i remember.

Edit: There seems to be some wonky-ness going on between the latest version of RLO, and ELFX. With both mods installed there are some lighting/shadow flickering inside some interiors. (As if certain light source stop emitting light, as you face certain angles) I notice it in various Inns (The fire-pits), and the jail cell in the mod Alternate Start Live Another Life (Candle next to the statue). However with that said the problem does not persist with version 4.0.8.02. The exact same load order, simply downgraded RLO, and all the lighting is stable again.

Is it really possible to use RLO and ELFX together? Aren't they doing the exact same thing and overwriting eachother constantly? I am using only RLO and I am not seeing these issues you have mentioned. The game engine itself though, has a limit of 4 actve lights per cell, so if you have more than 4 light sources, they may flicker or shut down when you turn the camera (or only appear at a certain distance). I think that the problem here might be that the new light sources added by rlo and elfx are reaching this limit when used together.

How's it going. Just wanted to say, great mod you've put together. Recently modded and began to play this game again, and the Realistic Lighting Adaptation is pretty damn coll how it adjusts the characters eyes to different levels of light like how it works in real life. I especially noticed this in my first dungeon. Thought it was way too dark, even with a torch at first, until gradually I noticed that without me realising, my characters eyes had adjusted. Dark areas were still dark, just wasn't almost as seemingly impenatrable as it first looked. I've noticed the same thing when leaving a darker interior inside a house, then stepping outside. Subtle, but still pretty damn neat.
