I like the idea of this mod, but i would say that poisons aren't that bad: My current character is an Alchemist an he's capable of creating poisons, that deal 31 damage per second for 10 seconds = 310 poison damage. It could be even more if i had a complete set of enchanted gear, but that's already enough for most enemies...

Perhaps the Khajiit caravan traders should have a higher chance of having it? It would make sense since they travel far and wide and would be much more likely to encounter it. Not to mention most Khajiit are thieves and assassins.

Nice will download. I was saving my jarrin Root so that I could make superhyper-poison to use against Dragonborn DLC's final boss but now I might make more of them for other bosses (too bad dragons seem to resist poisons quite highly)...

Yes you could make a sublist with the reduced chance inside the rare ingredient list, considering the already low chances of getting a rare ingredient.

Or you could simply add it there and make copies of the itens in there. Each entry counts for the chance, but each type of item there.

@bobglaub - I do like that idea, but I have no idea how I would do it. Is there a way to check a quest status when coming up with a leveled item list? One issue I could see though is that some people may want to do an alchemist character that kills only when they have no choice, like in a dungeon or when attacked by bandits, but not for monetary gain or anything. If they never do the Dark Brotherhood quests then they would never have access to the Jarrin Root.

@mgbeach - I'll see what I have that isn't already posted. I think that most of what I've done is already available. Wearing circlets under hoods, disenchantable DB armor, increasing the duration of candlelight, reversing the dual casting cost/damage ratio. I was kind of surprised that I couldn't already find something like this.

These are the kind of tweaks I like.. simple but cool. If you have any other good stuff lurking in your personal changes definitely post them up!

thank you kind sir. I play an assassin character, but like you mentioned, the poisons are weak. It would be cool if you could make this spawn only after someone has completed the DB quest. But that might be hard to do.

I was going to add it to the rare ingredients list but then I realized that doing that would make it be way too common for my taste.

If Jarrin Root was added it would be 1 of 17 rare items and the vendors sometimes have a count of 10 to 15 of them in their lists. That list has a 25% chance of having nothing appear and is calculated for each item in the count. The math on that works out so that on average there will be 7 to 12 rare ingredients and there is a 1 in 17 chance for one of those to be Jarrin Root. So just over 41% chance of a Jarrin Root to appear on the low end of the average probability.

I ran through a couple dozen iterations with the preview result button in the CK and I was able to verify it was coming available way too often.

EDIT: I think I see what you were saying. I made a new LItem for Jarrin Root and I could have put THAT into the rare ingredients list...not add the Jarrin Root item into the rare ingredients list like I was talking about above. That would have been way easier. As a relatively new modder I do still have a lot to learn.

Haha nice, I was thinking about making the same to my own mod.Beth should have put it as a really rare ingredient, just like Daedra hearts.

Also you don't need to manualy add them to vendors, just change the general list they use and bam, it's done.
