Best follower I have ever had. I would not have survived against Malkoran without her.

hello, I just found her while derping on Google images and thought I would like to give her a try. she looks great.
I also have a Redguard Follower mod, I made one personally. she is a Barbarian whose cousin is the Executioner in Solitude.

    @Oktanas
That is interesting. I spent a vacation in Lithuania once and saw some Farai then - ha.

Background of the name Farai and why I selected. It's comes out of a dialect of the Shona language that is spoken in southern Zimbabwe. No I don't speak this language. But the meaning of the Name Farai in this dialect is 'Rejoice'. Farai, the character, embodies Rejoice.

Farai is a Paladin, her approach to the game is that of a crusade. She smites her foes in the name of her maker and is particularly disgusted by the walking dead. She does not think it odd that she talks to her maker in dreams and visions. She is the epitomy of righteous and Rejoices with her God with every victory because she is convinced of her cause.

Unfortunatly there is no such thing as Paladin in skyrim, so I didn't put her out as that - but thats what I had in mind as I built her with a focus on heavy armor and restoration magic attack. Restoration magic - the pure magic, the clean magic.

I also plan to add some righteous Restoration-based Light attacks to make her a 'Vampire Killer' - I just need some time. Of course her crusade includes eradicating vampires. These light attacks will be new, and not part of the vanilla game.

I need to dig into the Redguard lore and tie this all into something better. I did select redguard specifically, more out of a gut feel that it was the correct choice for a Paladin. Maybe their is some basis for this gut feeling that I can make myself aware of. Farai ended up being the perfect name for this Redguard Paladin - and, yes, she would make a mean cop too!

The Dawnguard is a faction of paladins. I made one of my characters one, and was looking for fitting paladin mods when I came across this. Also, in my opinion, Redguard and Nord are both great races for paladins. Actually, I think redguard would be the best.

In all seriousness though, I think I may have figured out why she's acting funky. It may just be a mod conflict or something that I'm unaware of (not likely but still possible) but, the reason Farai isn't healing and her survivability is really low compared to your other followers may be due to the fact that her leveling up stat priority isn't increasing her magicka at all. Rather than health/stamina to magicka being 2:1, it's acting more like 2:0 because when I open her stats she has 0 magicka at level 845 but 8k health and 5k stamina. No magicka = no buffs/heals = dead Farai

thanks for the detail, I'll fix that I also need to give her this Healing "Power" that I found in the code. Doesn't need MP or anything. Eryniel and Calerial have it - works good - full heal in one shot - requires no hand or arm animations so it doesn't interrupt combat - does a full body shimmer instead. Makes them near impossible to incapacitate or kill unless they get one shotted.

Yeah, I think that's a bit OP, unleess you make it so that they can only do it once per day. That basically makes them invincible.

Alright so just for funsies I'm going to add Farai into the party with the other girls this playthrough and see if I manage to defeat harkon miraak and alduin without killing her by mistake. ^-^

Well good news is Farai made it to Alduin. Bad news is she did it as a dead thrall. :O About mid way through the Dragonborn dlc she ran in front of me and i did the grab and stab in the back kill cam. And since I was feeling lazy I kinda just used raise Dead thrall on her corpse even though she hates undead. Oh well I still mark that as a success since I at least managed to do it without her body being destroyed to the point that I couldn't raise her again.

a fitting end to her - lol

Edit: you brought up a point I need to add to Farai's to do list. rework her healing - the only things that should be able to kill Farai (outside of Requiem) are the other NPC followers that I've made

Well I can kill all of them because one of the first things I do for a hardcore play through is rip off all my follower's essential/protected tags. In addition, every NPC with an essential tag can stilled be killed by me thanks to another mod that makes any NPC die if i hit them with a power attack that would knock their HP to 0.

excellent - are they easy to kill? which is the hardest? I already know Eryniel is the easiest. I'm working on a 'pain' dungeon and am thinking i'll make a few of them bosses, with other bosses of course and a load of other surprises - something stupidly hard and only for post-80 players

I'm going to apologize for the following wall of text now...

If it's just me attacking them no they aren't easy to kill. But with some of the insanity my combined difficulty mods throw at me a lot times they get really low and then all it takes is one bad weapon swing on my part and I'll kill them (like with poor Farai). For example just a couple days ago I had an hour long war that involved 29 dragons thanks to DGO dragon reinforcement feature. Now if these were standard vanilla dragons that would be a laughable affair. However these 29 dragons were further enhanced by Deadly Dragons so they included several Aspects of Alduins, Inferno Dragons, Ironworks Dragons, etc... Further these 29 deadly dragons were boosted even more by the fact that Enhanced Mighty Dragons and Deadly dragons raised their health, attack power, defence power etc by 300% because I have those mods using immortal settings and the game was already set to legendary difficulty to begin with. Thus each of these dragons have 200k+ health and other ridiculous nonsense. Now I try to minimize the amount of god items and such I and my companions use so each of us have 67% resistance to all forms of magic through enchanting and we each are pushing 5k health etc... thanks to the Community Uncapper putting my level at 845. My premier dragon fighting weapon is from a mod called Berserk Dragonslayer and after I've improved it using my 999 smithing skill further enhanced by my enchanting/smithing gloves that were made using my 999 enchanting skill this sword does 7827 damage each swing. My companions are armor capped so they get an 85% reduction to physical damage however that still means that this sword does 1174 damage to my companions if I hit them with a basic attack. My companions only have between 5k-8k so it doesn't take much for me to accidentally kill them when there's a total shitstorm going on around me like the above mentioned scenario. Under normal circumstances in my casual games your companions are pretty much gods and I love them for it. That being said on my hardcore saves I love that they are as mortal as they are because at the same time I'm just as easy to kill as they are (ok maybe not quite as easy since I do have that smart cast mod auto casting healing spells for me). But my point still stands on hardcore saves no companion should be a god and impossible for anything to kill.

that sounds amazing and I totally agree with your last comment - initially all of my followers were released with the essential flag off, since personally, I think its cheating, or if not, its a hella way to make the game easier (or a get out of jail card for releasing a badly designed follower in the first place). for me, there is nothing more satisfying than assembling a solid group of mortal followers and pulling off some 'no way you can do it' fight like you described. that's when I really love this game

oh - and bring your sword to my dungeon, your going to need it

Ok.. so imagine Calerial accompanied by a couple dozen archers shooting flaming, exploding arrows and her tossing illusion magic, turning your entire party berserk - who's going to end up dead ... who! who! (muah ha ha ha ha)

I have a counter for that.

For example: Slow Time shout then Kamui evil Calerial and myself into my assassin dimension kill her then leave dimension and calm all my followers then deal with other archers (that's assuming my berserk followers haven't slaughtered everything and there's only 1 left standing lol

The above counter is assuming that Calerial will keep casting berserk if she only casts it once I'll just calm then kill everything
