I hope someone might still be on this thread but 10 years since the last message I am dubious. Anyway, I have been looking for a decent character profile manager for a long time so I found this one. It looks great but when I start up all of the buttons to the left of 'Settings' are greyed out & can't be pressed. So I can do settings to do the filepaths but then can't add any charactters or much else.
I don't have it in my programs folder because of the permission issues.
is it possible to make an ingame main menu version of this? like have a menu under the load section where you can select what character you want to play then select a save for that toon?
Just finished a complete character in Skyrim and wanted to start another one and still go back to this one on occasion and I assume this program will allow me to do so. I downloaded it and went to settings and assumed the program would have filled out the executable path and obviously it doesn't. So for us old folks how do we properly fill in the settings information? Thanks in advance.
Are you going to update to copy quick and auto saves to and from character directories? If you forget to do an actual save before switching characters, you could potentially lose some progress.
I thought about doing that... but it seemed that there was more potential for corruption when I was testing it, so I took it out. Basically, since I'm not actually looking in the saves, just the names, all of the quick saves look the same. I plan to try to look into actually getting information from the saves at some point, but that's a more dicey proposition looking at what's available, unfortunately.
I might add it as an option with a *great big warning* on it if there's enough of a demand for it.
I was trying to follow but I seem to still be confused about skse. The save files have the skse extension. The Manager doesn't seem to deactivate the skse save, just the ess save. How do I make it work so that it will enable and disable the skse save files?
ignore the saves with skse extensions. They are not copies to and from character directories nor do they show in the saves list in the game.
For those that use SKSE....
All this manager is doing is moving saves in and out of the main saves folder to help you streamline and organize your saves. So when your wife or kids want to play their characters, they dont have to search through a long saves list to find their character saves.
1. Activate your character you want to play. 2. Now, do not launch the game with the saves manager. Launch it the same way you did before. 3. When you are done playing, make a save, exit the game, and deactivate your character.
Now when another member of your household goes to play, they do the same steps.
Remember... you do not need to launch the game with the manager, and you do not need to worry about the saves with .skse extensions.
Right now it only loads from the Skyrim exe. I will change that in the update. I was trying to wait to see if I had ironed out all of the problems with the path info. But if I haven't heard back by the weekend, I'll upload what I have.
