The Dragonborn DLC is now required. Your game will crash if you don't have Dragonborn installed.
Spectral Arrow: Spectral Arrow is a spell present in the vanilla game, but not used by anyone or anything. It was originally going to be the reward from Stalleo for clearing out the bandits in Trevas Watch, but was replaced with Detect Life before Skyrim was released.
The Spectral Arrow spell does 30 base damage, with +10 damage for each rank of Mystic Binding, up to 80 at rank 5, or 172 if dual-cast. For comparison, the Destruction spell Incinerate does 60 base damage, or 132 when dual cast, or 90 with both ranks of Augmented Flames, 198 dual casted. For balance, the stagger effect that the unmodded spell causes has been removed.
The damage ignores armor, but can be mitigated by non-elemental magic resistance. For example, an Orc in daedric armor would take full damage, while a naked Breton would take 25% less damage than any other race, because of their racial ability.
I think this should be balanced well enough, but I'm open to suggestions.
Using this spell against valid targets will gain XP towards the Conjuration skill. It does not benefit from the Soul Stealer or Oblivion Binding perks.
SkyUI's MAG (magnitude) column reports the wrong damage. I'm not sure how to correct that.
The spell tome can be purchased from anyone who sells conjuration spells. NOTE: Edits two leveled lists, so use Wrye Smash (or a similar program) to build a bashed patch for mod compatibility.
Bound Weapons:
Damage on the bound sword/battleaxe/bow increased for ranks 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Mystic Binding perks. Each of these ranks now add +5 base damage to each weapon. This is a bit more damage than in version 1.x of the mod.
Support has been added for the Bound Dagger added by Dragonborn. +5 damage added for ranks 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Mystic Binding. This extra damage is not visible in the inventory UI, but is applied as a damage health effect on targets, mitigated by their armor rating.
Just uploaded a new version as an optional beta. It adds support for Soul Stealer and Oblivion Binding perks for the Spectral Arrow, which somehow I forgot to do when I made 2.0. Play with it and let me know of any trouble. The Oblivion Binding currently doesn't banish daedra; I can't seem to figure out how to do that at the moment, but I'll work on it. It will turn undead though, for 30 seconds.
I would like to offer an idea that may or may not work for you. I don't mod but sometimes a good idea comes from clear minds.
Is there any reason that the power of bound weapons can't be tied into the Smithing tree so as your power goes up all weapons would gain. Would you use a soul gem to boost the power of a bound weapon? This might have to be tied into the sharpening wheel or enchanting table. Just blowing air maybe.
Then you wouldn't have to sacrifice extra perk points to a tree that should have this feature already built in.
There's no technical reason why not, but I don't think it would make sense. It's a temporary object conjured from Oblivion, not a permanent thing you carry around with you.
Only thing I can think is to toggle ArchiveInvalidation on and off in your mod manager and move the plugin dead last in the load order and see if that helps anything. If you're using an ENB with a lot of graphical eye candy, it might be hiding the visual effects somehow.
Only unmodded games? How about dlc's ? The bound Dagger from dragonborn (or was it dawnguard, like hell i'll remember)?
Okay, lets get straight to the point - why is my bound weapons invisible? (except the bound dagger, bound pickaxe and bound woodcutters axe) Let me explain it. I had this little extra mod i made so my bound weapons could be more effective in higher levels. I just added 3 enchantments to the Soul Stealer perk : absorb health, stamina and magicka by 50 points (magnitude 50, duration 0). Right, it worked. But i still wanted to make the bound weapons more powerfull (like you did) but i always failed miserably. So then i saw your mod. I downloaded it, all worked fine. But i had to uninstall my mod that added the enchantments so they would not conflict, you see. The bound weapons were good, now thanks to your mod, doing more damage. But i started to feel like something's missing. The soul stealer perk was still too boring whitout my mod, you see. So then i thought, heck i could just improve the existing mod by Rooker. So i did. And the bound weapons dissapeared. Well, all worked, it did great damage, stole the mortal life-force of the victim, like i wanted it to do, but the weapon itself was invisible. Gone, poof. No shaders, no shadows, nothing. Only the position of the hands will tell you that you're actually using something in your hand. So first of all, sorry for editing your mod a bit, dont worry, i will never post it somewhere nor let someone use it by my name. Second, how did you make this mod? Did you had to edit the models or shaders?
But seriously, your mod is amazing. This should have been in the game since the beginning! I recomend this mod, it works just fine (unless you're stupid enough like me, trying to edit something).
Don't worry about editing it. I edit half the mods I download to suit my tastes. You can even upload it if you like, just credit me.
Going from memory here... I created a new weapon for each level of the perk and I think I had to create a duplicate shader effect for each one too. So when you take a new level in the perk, you end up conjuring a completely different, but identical-looking, weapon. It seems a little kludgy tbh, but that's how Bethesda did it too, so I just copied their method.
I'm not sure what's causing the problem you're having. If the model or texture was missing, you'd see a big exclamation point floating in the air. Is it invisible in both 1st and 3rd person view? I can't run Skyrim myself atm, so I can't open up the CK to get a better idea.
edit/ There's no support for bound weapons from any of the DLC. I don't remember there being one in Dawnguard and I never bought Dragonborn before I lost my old PC.
Hello, a very great mod. I wonder to know if it's possible to make a compatibility with recolor bound weapon by Tiny ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34624 ). If it's possible it will be tremendous. I'll post on her mod two to ask hte same thing. Endorse !
Hi! Great idea for a mod, however I seem to be having trouble with the bound bow spell. After I fire the spell off it doesn't do anything other than give me arrows on my back but no bow. Is anyone else having this problem or maybe something went wrong on my end?
I think it's safe to declare this out of beta now. There has been no change to the main file, but there is now an optional download which reduces the Conjuration skill requirements to 30/50/70/90. Use either that or the main file, but not both at the same time. It should be fine to switch from one to the other mid-game, but no guarantee.

I'm currently using these mods in this order:
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Dragonborn.esm
Hearthfires.esm
RaceCompatibility.esm
OrientalRace.esp
typemoonWeapons.esp
boundscalingdb.esp
bound weapons redus.esp
Bound Weapon Mastery.esp
Dual Wield Parrying_SKS
SkyUI.esp
Archer Mod.esp
FNIS>esp
HighResTexPac01
HighResTexPac02
HighResTexPac03
I've tried using only this mod without the other bound weapon mods but it doesn't do anything my weapons still do not show up when I call them.
Upping the damage increase of each perk a bit, because they seem kind of meh now that I'm looking at the actual values.
Adding the bound dagger from Dragonborn (which means it will be a required master file).
Tweaking an existing, but unused spell (Spectral Arrow) that gets better as you take the perks.
