soooo you don't kill them yourself but you get someone else to do it for you, yet you are still the one who made them get killed. So technically you still are the one who got them killed. sounds like murder to me. In fact if you think about it, if you hire a hitman to kill someone you still can be accused of murder.
Maybe in real life, but not in Skyrim. Actually, the idea of it is that the spell reveals the vampire for all to see, and everyone attacks him on their own. Not to mention, you're making the common mistake of trying to apply 21st Century morals to a world that is roughly equivalent to the 9th to 11th Centuries.
Also what would you do if suddenly a citizen was revealed a vampire, a monster that feeds and kills for a living (or dying?). I would kill it on sight. A person you have been living your life with (maybe as neighbors) has been a monster all along, lying, cheating and decieving everyone. They deserve what's coming to them.
Wow, thanks for this, as a non-sneak character, this radiant quest irked me so! I especially love how you made it purchasable by Florentius, very fitting and immersive.
This looks very interesting and I will check it out immediately as soon as I get another quest from Isran or whoever. I always wondered how NPC's could be so dumb as to not recognize vampires. I understand they're trying to make it challenging and it is fun that way but I can only ever kill the damn vamps by using potions to make them follow me. Then I fast travel to another location and hastily slay him. Needless to say, this looks like a fantastic and realistic alternative - one that I will happily try out.
I went thru the game this way as well, initially wanting to be a healer for a group of companions with UFO, but when I found that their kills count as your own, I changed my strategy to use illusion, which can be incredibly powerful, as long as you start early enough.
I look forward to seeing other possible mods adding "nonviolent" solutions to various quests. (fury only works if there is something else is around to kill the target for you, and without high level perks cannot affect undead)
I found it impossible to progress thru Saarthal, and Bleak falls barrow without at least getting kill credit for killing the bosses at the end.
