Adds Chocobos in the world of Skyrim (Wild + Mounts + Followers + Summonable Mounts)

Permissions and credits
5 Towns, 5 Breeds of Chocobos, 5 Colors (No DLC required)

The Chocobos Mounts are in the 5 Stables (Whiterun, Markath, Riften, Solitude, Windhelm) + IN the 5 Towns (only the Mounts with saddle); and around the towns ...

You have also a few Chocobos Companions (Wait - Follow - Trade - Favor - Dismiss)

You can summon (9) Chocobos Mounts and -simple- Followers (the winged Chocobos) wherever you want.

You can easily DISMISS when you want with a "Spell tome:Dismiss Summoned Chocobo"

The Wild Chocobos are … in the world of Skyrim !

In my other mod with the Chocobos you can summon the Black winged Chocobo with the music of the chocobos ! :

And my mod "Incubated Chocobos" adds the ability to quickly incubate eggs of Chocobos with the fire of the forge, and quickly create a horde of babies Chocobos (5, 15, 50, 100 ...) that are following you as if you were their mother ! :

Only for the manual installation:

1) With « 7 – zip » -or other- (right click) you must unzip the downloaded file

2) You have a folder: “Data” (with 2 files: “ChocobosMounts.bsa” and “ChocobosMounts.esp”)

You have to put this folder « Data » in "...Steam/SteamApps/common/skyrim "

For the manual and the NMM installations:

3) When you start the game, in "data files", you must check "ChocobosMounts.esp" at the bottom of the list to obtain the 10 books … OK … play (Normally, this is done automatically !)

You can find the “Spell tome: Summon XXXX Chocobo and the “Spell tome: Dismiss Summoned Chocobo” at Farengar Secret-Fire in Dragonsreach/Fort Dragon (Whiterun/Blancherive) or with an other "Spell Vendor" (ex: Sybille Stentor in the Blue Palace in Solitude).

You can have ALL the mounts of my mods, BUT to obtain/buy the books /spells/ mounts of a new downloading mod, YOU MUST PUT this one at the bottom of list when you launch the game, EVERY TIME ! … And you buy the books IMMEDIATELY before downloading a new mod ! … ALL my mods are STANDALONE !

If you have not bought a book/spell, NO PROBLEM, you can always put again this mod at the bottom of the list… buy the books, etc ...

To uninstall, simply remove these files ! (if you have forgotten which files these are, simply unzip the folder of the mod again, and then find the same in Data).


1) You can only have one Follower at a time: if you want a different one, you need to dismiss the first one before you recruit them.

If telling the chocobo to “See You Later”, etc … (With message: “Your companion heads home”) doesn't dismiss him, or if you have "lost" the “active” Follower, you can try this:

Type “²” key to get into console, and type:

set playeranimalcount to 0

With Amazing Follower Tweaks , or other mod with followers, if problem to dismiss the followers, you can uncheck this mod (AFT or other) in the Data Files when you launch the game

If problem with the Dialog Box of the followers/ companions (Wait - Follow - Trade - Favor - Dismiss) you can also enter / exit a house or make a fast travel

2) You can put in your Skyrim.ini ( user / my documents / my games / Skyrim ) the following settings (you can copy / paste the following):



These settings allow you to see all mounts correctly, whether your character takes his weapon out or not.

3) If you have "lost" the “active” Mount, you can try a Fast Travel.

Normally, the “town’s mount’s" chocobos automatically returns IN the towns…If not !, you can walk or run (with the chocobo), dismount the chocobo, mount a horse or….and make a Fast Travel…


The Chocobo can’t jump, fly or swim…

If you dismount in the water, it is possible to swim in the air !! Solution: MOUNT AGAIN or SPACEBAR

When the chocobo is in battle, it approaches the enemy and just stand their and lets itself be attacked and it doesn't fight back (there is no animation in the game for the chickens/chocobos to fight)

If you want the Music of the Chocobos when you mount...

1) You can add my "Add-on" (in the "Miscellaneous files") to this mod: "Music when mounting Chocobos", but there is a "little" problem: the chocobos AND the horses have the same music...!

Music when mounting by Bagserk (Not to have "File not valid" when you convert the mp3 to XWM file with MultiXwm by Vikichan ; you must put your mp3 in C/Program files)
