I myself put a bed over in the corner w/the other beds, but, while it D/N seem to mess up navmesh, I had to move cabinets to do it, and now one of the candles decided to insert itself in the cabinet as a result, even tho it is fine in CK. Your bedroll in the far corner away from everything: a much SAFER mod.
One day I need to finally figure out the PiTA scripting in TESV, as I want to make a Bards' College mod (built atop the Bards and Mecrchants mod, which is awesome), but d*** Skyrim scripting is confusing...
Grand idea. It is really a disappointment that once you've done all the quests, you still don't have sleeping rights and continue to effectively be an outsider with no privileges. Maybe Beth was waiting for someone to mod Bard extension quests / privileges - or maybe they will some day.
Exactly why I finally made it, I don't often do the bards college quest because I found it painfully disappointing when I first played it but whenever I'm playing a speech focused rogue I tend to drift towards them early on in the game, just cant resist it despite knowing I'll be disappointed all over again.
One of the things that always irked me was the lack of a bed, maybe I've not explored the town enough but I have never found an unowned beggers roll or straw pile to swipe for the night. Inn fees aren't really a problem but from an RP perspective it just always got me foaming that as a part of the college you cannot sleep within the premises and are forced to trek to the Inn regardless or status.
I haven't really touched the construction set primarily due to not wanting to go near the navmesh bug, reading it was supposedly fixed a little while ago I figured it was finally time to look at some of the cells. Initially I wanted to place a proper bed and have membership requirements but frankly in fear of the navmesh bug I simply didn't want to risk it, it may be fixed for now but with future patches you can never say never.
All the mods I've done for Skyrim to date are really just minuscule, I have no real desire to start projects on the sort of scope I have done for previous titles and this is a new low for me in minimal impact and effort mods so I was fairly reluctant to upload it.
That said, on looking to see what was currently available and finding literally nothing outside of Steam Workshop uploads (which I refuse to use partially due to its auto update and removal system) I figured if others are in the same situation as me waiting endlessly for a more popular modder to 'fix' the bards college they may as well just use this in the meantime.
Simply put, minimal impact and effort but functional is preferable to me than waiting for something of more substance that may or may not ever happen so I just use this, that is until such time someone decides to work on such a project.
It's one of those mods that you completely forget about installing, but at some point are extremely grateful it exists when you enter the situation which you would need it.
