Type 3 left me speechless, endorsed and thank you for such a great mod.

7 years later and I still use this mod. I can't believe how time flies. So many things have changed but not my snow, still gorgeous as ever. Works on SE too.

I thought this was a great mod until.....it starts snowing in Whiterun...

I know, technically, it can snow anywhere, but since there are no settled snow textures in or around Whiterun, it seems a bit unrealistic to suddenly have a massive snow storm.
Would be much better if snow can be kept to the areas where snowfall occurs in the vanilla game. IMO.

Just want to say that there will be no snow from this mod inside Whiterun and there should not be any in the tundra plains as this mod does not affect the Whiterun world space or the tundra cells for weather patterns.

As for the snowfall only being in areas that have snowfall, that was the purpose of this mod. Unless other weather mods being used or someother patch was used, it should be restricted to Windhelm, college of Winterhold, mountains and cold areas as only those regions were edited.

I did make a version based on NLA 1.4, but since I haven't spoken with the author there are currently no plans to release it since it utilizes his entire plugin.

      something else did that hellboy
expanded snow system is one the the best "light" snow mods there is and there are not many as they all conflict with freaking everything !

oh and btw a weather overhaul mod does not only change the weather
it changes weather, sound, image blur-sharpness,colors,lights, exterior and interiors
      your enb also do that
your elfx rlo whatever also do that
override on override on override on override
and don't forget "those mods" who add super dark nights and break nightvision at the same time...genius !

thanks for modders like jonus who makes mod that actually add something new instead of destroying everything
      sorry for the rant ^^

I like this mod. But I recently installed ELFX Weather, and I wondered if this is compatible with it, or do it needs a patch? It probably does, but wanted to ask anyway. ^^ Good job!

I imagine it may if ELFX weathers changes region probability of weathers. Depending on how much it changes in regions it is possible you may just need to load this mod after ELFX weathers. The other problem may be that ELFX changes lighting values for weathers them selves, and may cause weird color/brightness shifts between its own weathers and the weathers of this mod.

Just a heads up for those that may be interested, I am currently working on a NLA version, but still in testing phase as well as tweaks. It would also include some NLA weathers for both Dawnguard and Dragonborn. Although it all hinges on if ConfidenceMan is ok with releasing his esp with my modifications.

How much of a performance hit does this mod give?

None to Low, but maybe Medium depends on your pc and if you use high snowflakes textures. But this is an easy weather addition compare to larger mods.

Does anybody know or has anyone tried to see if this is compatible with T.A.Z Visual Overhaul? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61826/
Hoping this mod doesn't fall under the list of incompatible weather mods for T.A.Z...

I haven't look into taz visual overhaul but i understand it uses and esp modification of lighting values such as Naturalistic lighting and atmospherics.

IF it does the mod should work as long as it loads after it, but as with any mods that alter lighting values of weather patterns, when my weather patterns occur the weather patterns may look odd for lack of a better descriptor. The lighting characteristics are based on vanilla lighting values

    Hi Community,

I would like to know if it would be possible only to get "Type 3" activated.

--> "Type 3: This type adds very slow, large flake, no wind style snow that falls almost vertically, there is light fog and slightly brighter than the other types."

Would be very glad for cause I rly like the slow falling snowflakes and don't wanna miss them.

Aswell I am using Pure Weather - so I'm assuming I need a patch for it, right? - Could someone explain me how I can do that via Tes5edit?

Sometimes I'll be out in a storm around an area that's been modded, like a town or city, or around a new dungeon, and all of a sudden the snowstorm will be gone.  Any ideas why this is happening?  Is this an engine limitation, or is there some setting missing from the mods?

Underrated work, I keep a master weather patch ESP and this has been merged in (and cleaned up / renamed in TES5Edit )
