Fix for the brown or purple forehead caused by Apachiiskyhair mismatch: Go to your skyrim/data/textures/actors/character/FaceGenData/FaceTint and delete the Skyrim.esm folder. Reload your game and play.
It depends on the color. Sometimes when the texture is too high rez (or a value is throwing something off) instead of rendering it where it should, it renders all colors to the forehead, so it can be a combination of everything.
I was having this texture problem regarding the mod High Level Enemies, because it contains compressed makeup textures in .bsa format. As the Skyrim Creation Kit did not solve the problem, I found more convenient to open the .dds texture files through the Gimp and fix it manually.
The way i found to fix this is going to "Data\textures\actors\character\character assets" folder and delete "tintmasks" folder (backup first) then when your done editing with the creation kit restore that folder.
Sorry this is a wrong way to solve this Problem with CK (now the NPCs have no uppereyesockets) it is a image Problem
To solve this Problem you have to find the "femaleuppereyesocket.dds" Data (\Skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\character assets\tintmasks) and Edit it with Gimp (I also use it) 1. Make the Alpha Cannel away 2. The size of that picture should have 256x256 3. Export as dds without Compression and Creating Mipmaps
(this work realy and kan solve another make up Proplems, just find the right file in thinmask folder) (sorry I can not upload a file that is a property of Bethesda)
Uninstall your custom skin textures. once you create or edit your NPC, install the texture. the CK cant handle custom skin textures because it's poorly made software
for me, the solution is, in ck, set the interpolation value to zero, but in LIPS, no uppereyes... there are thing difficult to understand, things impossible to understand, and the skyrim's CK!!! anyway, go in CK, in FacePart try changing various things, the interpolation value, but even the color (set custom), but one by one, and after click on CANCEL. do this as long as find the best solution, and clik ok. save, and select the edited npc and pres ctrl+f4.
Hmm, perhaps this is something for you all to try.
I made a custom NPC with a Nord base, and tried the method listed here, but it didn't work. So, noticing that some parts did get lightened, I tried other portions of the face. In the Character Gen Parts tab, I clicked the FemaleHeadNord_Lips.dds, and moved the Interpolation value to 0.00, which seemed to fix the face bug issue I had with that character.
Perhaps the item to change that value to is different for each race?
And yes, I am using Apachii SkyHair.
EDIT: Yes, it looks like you have to '0' out more than one of the face tint pieces for it to work. I've done it with three custom characters, and doing it work. See which ones are greater than 0, then move them to 0.
