    Well I certainly FEEL like I earned that perk point, lol. Very nice interface, surprisingly intuitive. Be sure to quicksave as you do the puzzle, so you won't have to start from scratch if something...bad happens.

    For those unaware, the Tower of Mzark can't be reached until you've traversed Blackreach (there's a door on the surface, but it's locked, and can only be unlocked from underground). If you want to use this mod early but without breaking any questlines, stand in front of the locked door, bring up the console, make sure nothing is targeted, and type "tcl". You can now walk through the door. Type "tcl" on the other side to return collisions to normal. You may now take the elevator down. There are two doors: one to the side labeled Ukodus, and another straight ahead; take the one to Ukodus. Do your puzzle, and go back up the way you came. Use the tcl trick to get back out if necessary. As long as you don't go through that other straight-ahead mystery door, you won't end up anywhere you're not supposed to be. Honestly, the hardest part is FINDING the Tower of Mzark as it has no map marker that early in the game.

    I like the idea of this. At least you have to do something to earn the perks, rather than just getting them for nothing..

    Whoops. I totally forgot about this upload. Sorry for not replaying sooner and thanks for the endorsements

    @BlindIo
    The mod doesn't touch the perks themselves or even change anything vanilla except the Mzark cell. Therefore I would assume it to be compatible with a perk overhaul. All it really does is remove a soul point and grant a perk point instead. Unless the perk overhaul somehow changes how perks are given to the player, I see no way this could interfere.

    @curse4444
    That is all completely for show. It is the weakest available vanilla spark spell that is thrown back and forth a couple times and then hits you. The “real magic” that removes the dragon soul and grants the perk point happens inside the script that controls the scene. The lightning is just extra eye-candy, absorbing or resisting it only prevents the loss of a couple hitpoints.

    So I completed a puzzle and it appeared like i was being shocked, whatever it was that the pillars do I absorbed it with spell absorption. (I have a lot of it due to perks and atronach stone). Do the pillars that shock you after cast a spell that does what is intended? Or is that for show? I honestly think I absorbed the effect.

    This looks good, but I am hesitant to use it, because I use tendo's skyrim redone.

    http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9286

    It overhauls the perk system, and sometimes there are crazy glitches when another addon messes with what skyre messes with. I dont want to corrupt my saves by testing this >.>

    Can you let me know if it works maybe?

    Hello Tracker4502,

    I am very sorry to hear that and apologize for the disappointment.

    I am using the new vanilla Game.AddPerkPoints() function that was added with the 1.8 patch to award the perk point right after removing the soul. I tested a few things I imagine could go wrong but had no success replicating the problem. It stubbornly keeps working on my end.

    Being out of options I created and uploaded a alternate version of the mod that uses SKSE's Game.ModPerkPoints() function instead ... maybe that works for you, although I assume you chose this mod because it does not require SKSE.

    Again: I am sorry. Should you have a Papyrus log of this “incident”, please PM it to me. It might help me track down the problem.

    While I am loving the concept of this mod, when I completed my first Sudoku puzzle I lost a soul but received no perk point. I am running version 1.8.151.0.7 of Skyrim, so I am not sure what the issue is. The animation was lovely though.

    Thank you for the information. I'll add the version requirement to the description.

    Oh and one more thing to emphasize:

    This is one of the GREATEST mods ever! :O)

    I was beginning to get annoyed of what to do with all the souls of those poor, slayed dragons, while on the other hand I lack a lot of perks...

    And thanks for the extra pic, too! Much appreciated.

    L.

    Tefnacht:

    Thanks man, after trying for hours I myself figured out too, that it does NOT work below patch 1.8.151.

    I did not want to repel anybody with my question but you should know that there are many gamers outside in the world who do not hurry to update to the last version as soon as it is out. I myself prefer to use an "old" version for weeks even after a new patch is released. Why? Because we all know what patches are like. (Have you ever tried Java for example? You must have if you have an internet connection and who doesn't have? Every third version comes out shitty making half of the internet collapse. So why should hurry hitting the "update now" button?)

    Just a small advice for the future: always add a single line to your mod saying which version you used for making it. It would save time and a lot of frustration for others.

    Thanks anyway, the idea is brilliant! Endorsed.

    Regs.
