I still love this mod. I would port it to SE if PrinceShroob would give me permission to do so. This is a great little mod for immersion and one of the best "tiny" mods on the Nexus.
I rebuilt Skyrim and knew I was forgetting some important - to me - mods. As soon as I saw a thief in the wilderness, I realized what one of those missing mods was - this one!
I still love this mod - it still makes the playthrough seem so much more realistic.
I really like the idea behind this mod. It helps if using LAL or simply wanting to play a classic Good Guy character (for me anyways) because I love using the Thieves Guild Armor and I use the 2K or 4K Thieves Guild Armor by SteelSnake which is one of if not the best retexture of that armor and is staggeringly detailed even down to the stitch marks in the leather.
Bravo for this mod. Great idea. Downloaded and Endorsed.
It's quite possible for great minds to think alike; if I were a more well-known modder I might suspect plagiarism. I suppose it is a bit suspicious, but I don't quite have the time on hand to investigate at the moment.
I'm sure there are plenty of other mods that enable the player to use normally unplayable armors. Part of the point is that the player can't loot it, since 1) it's Elven quality, and thieves appear starting a level one, 2) there's no downside to killing the thief, and 3) it makes little sense for thieves to go from loot piƱatas to bags of overpowered-for-your-level armor.
That said, the playable Thieves Guild armor you can get (and the variants available with my Playable Alternate Thieves Guild Armor mod) are generally superior in every way, so I would just advise you to use that instead.
