Thanks for the mod. I love Dawnbreaker and used it to complete the main quest my second time thru with this mod. It was fun exploding all those draugr! No complaints.
Dawnbreaker is a pretty powerful sword even in the vanilla game. The trick is that you can get dawnbreaker relatively early in the game so it can be a bit of a cheat. That being said its really hard to upgrade because it requires the daedric smithing perk. So there is some logic to being able to make the sword a bit more powerful.
Normally a daedric sword does 14 pts of base damage and dawnbreaker does only 12 pts. and it only does 10 pts of fire damage. That's a bit of a kick in the bojangles if you spend all that time working your smithing to be able to improve it.That being said the effect it has against undead is pretty darn powerful. So there are 2 ways to solve this.
1) bring down the smithing requirements a bit to say steel so that way you can upgrade the heck out of it early and use it as a pretty good mid game sword. 2) Keep it a daedric artifact but pump the damage up to be a daedric sword and maybe increase the fire damage to 15 or 20. That would make it one heck of a find but you wouldn't be able to do much with it until you get your daedric smithing perk... then it becomes a badass late to end game weapon.
I agree with gift2, and find smaruskas' comment to be kinda ignorant. Going by the mods' description, it changes Dawnbreaker in a different way, and maybe it's a better alternative to people who prefer to have these changes over another Dawnbreaker stats mod.
It would be nice if the author could provide some statistical info on the changes though. I have the Beefier Dawnbreaker mod installed now, but I might go for this one if the changes are better. I'll try this mod out and see if I like it.
@ smaruska - " I already have that and don't see the point of this mod rly..." perhaps to add variety and options for the community? Maybe I find "unlimited charges" a cheat or prefer the looks of the original.
The Vicious Dawnbreaker replacer has been around forever, changes the stats to Daedric, makes the charges unlimited and looks cooler than the regular Dawnbreaker. I already have that and don't see the point of this mod rly...
Numerically, what are the stats changed to? I quite like Dawnbreaker and it'd be good to see it more viable late game/harder difficulties/etc. Got another mod modifying Dawnbreaker already so it'd be good to see what exactly this one does.
