I don't know what happened to this author, but I would like to invite the users of this mod to try Atlas Map Markers. Its always updated and very full featured.
FEATURES Over 650 Total Locations to Discover, 202 Secondary + 266 Customizable + 142 Dawnguard! Just added Dragonborn and Blackreach map markers!
To this author has happened that he is currently working on another skyrim mod, he is also living a life outside skyrim, and he doesn't want his map to be crowded too much ;-)
Haha, that's right that's actually why I'll use this mod instead of Atlas Map Markers... It adds like 10 markers to every city and between most of them you have to walk like 10 steps ^^
Don't if this has been previously been identified as a conflict but this mod seems to conflict with the "stones of barenziah quest markers" mod. Get loading screen then CTD if this mod is lower than the other in the load order. But if I put this mod in the load order above the stones of barenziah quest markers mod then it seems to work ok and no CTD on game launch. Not sure what happens when stones of barenziah quest be comes active. Will give a try and let people know.
I am not sure what happens if you re-enter skuldafn/sovngarde, and I don't want to release possibly troublesome mods. On problem would be returning to tamriel - Tsun will likely not offer the transport back any more, since the related quest is over. And making skuldafn/sovngarde safe for re-entering is outside the scope of this mod.
The DLC version is an alternate to the regular version, which disables the markers for Redwater Den and Last Vigil, and adds a marker for Dayspring Canyon, but in theory is able to work with vanilla skyrim, too. The Solstheim mod cares about Solstheim only. So the correct thing is the DLC version + Solstheim.
Are there any bugs with using this with SE? I've been using it and it seems to work fine but the mod author said there could be bugs so has taken down the SE page.
some other people have reported some things not working properly, and as I don't own SSE, I am cannot look into these claims. The files I provided for SSE were exactly the same as the ones provided here.
Well, you more often get feedback if it's not working than if it is working, so my view on that may be a bit out of balance... Maybe, if I get some more comments of it working flawless, I'll reenable the files, although with a big fat note of limited support.
i haven't noticed any problems either. i was just checking mod's page for an update if there was any and boom mod is no longer available coz some people reported mod not working with SSE and i was like wtf... mod is working i have played 40 hrs already with it.
Ive been using this for a while on SE. I recently tried fast travelling to the temple of kynareth in whiterun and it broke the game. I could not enter buildings. fast traveling to a vanilla map marker fixed it luckily.
I've had this installed from your SE page since you had it up with no issues in my game, I was gonna opt in and use open cities today. Maybe you can open that page back up? I think peoples issues are conflicting mods or poor load orders. With the influx of console users and people new to modding period, I would tend to agree that people with issues for sure comment more than we who don't. I hope you will consider this, and maybe everyone can help work out any real issues it may have.
I never use fast travel, using this only for navigation and exploring interesting places, and I had no issues so far. Only duplicate markers, but lower in the comment section I already found out those were caused by using both the DLC edition and the Open Cities compatible version. Maybe you should state somewhere they shouldn't be used together, I thought it is simply a patch which just removes couple of markers, not that it is on the same level as main file.
It's working all fine in SSE, I found some of the locations and are about 20 hours into the game. I got it from the now hidden SSE mod page and wanted to look if there is any update. So found out some user claim to have problems. I use many mods, all the goodies you can get on pc and Map Markers Complete works perfectly in SSE. I also translated it to German for myself, still working. ^^
I only have problems when fast travelling to non-vanilla location markers - infinite loading screen and from there have to log-out or reset as I am unable to close Skyrim. Tbh its not such a big deal (once I figured out what was the cause) - I just remember to fast travel to vanilla location markers. I think you would be fine to re-enable the SE version - just let people know that if it happens to them, to make sure they just fast travel to vanilla locations nearby to where they want to go... its not like they are few and far between hahaha
Ahh, I've been waiting for that mod xD hishutup contacted me with the offer of creating a merged version with the new CK, and I told him to either forward the file to me so I can host it, or upload it for himself. I was expecting a further response from him, but obviously, he thought different ;-) Thanks for linking that mod, I will update my descriptions to point to his mod.

blame the autor of that other mod for putting their bosses into one-time only locations

EDIT: I do not use Open Cities
That said, you never specified what those reports actually were, so I don't know what to look out for. But so far I've had no problems with this mod.
EDIT: I do not use Open Cities either.
Also, there is an edited version of the mod that supposedly adds support for Open Cities: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4138/?
