What makes an NPC "stewardable"?  Can it be done via console?  In my current game, NO ONE can be a steward.  Not sure what mod broke it, but it's broken.

Do they have daily routines like eating and sleeping if they are not hired? Or will they stand still in waiting you to hire them 24/7?

Bun-Za - Argonian male who is retiring from his work at the College in Winterhold,
In the earlier version I was able to change sex of steward..preferred Argonnian as female.when I upgraded went to do that again...in latest version there does not seem to be that option any-more..in the CK..I am not versed in the newer CK at all..But I did not notice the option to change him to a female is not where it used to be,..
Actually I'd Iike them all to be female..But really want Bun-Za .., Is there another way..or something I am missing..Is it in a different place in the CK.. it was on the first page before when you clicked on them now it is not..Any help appreciated..
    ****Never mind found out how..Yeah

Your instructions are a bit unclear, so I'm not sure what to expect. I downloaded the 1.4 version and installed. I only saw the standard vanilla NPC Follower dialogue, there were no dialogue options for being a steward or anything.

Do I need to download any other files in addition to the " Dominions Hearthfire Stewards v1_4" main file? Does this work with custom homes (I'm using White River Cottage)?

I opened up the ajd_domhearthfirestewards.esp in TES5Edit and didn't even see any dialogue in the mod, which makes me think that I'm missing a prerequisite.

So the problem is that neither the vanilla game nor this mod allow you to hire stewards for any house other than the Hearthfire BYOH houses. I've created a mod to remedy that, so now players can hire stewards for all of their house mods. Link: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/68065/?

The one in Falkreath isn't showing up for me and I haven't looked for the others. I also use CBBE (Caliente's female body mod)...think they could be conflicting with each other someway?

I don't think that should be conflicting.

For a NPC to become a steward, they have to have the right voice type, and they must be a potential follower. Ria is a custom-voiced NPC therefore it is not possible to keep her voice in order to turn her into a steward.

Thanks for the reply and update..
Started a new game, and built a new house..with my old character that's done the main quest, as I wait for Dragonborn DLC to arrive..
First of all, I am sure you don't mind but I changed them all to females, with same voice one you used but female, changed a few hairs,& colours and that's all.. I live in a all female house at Lakeview..
I hired a now Argonian female Bun-Za, we got back to Lakeview, and bandits were attacking..She helped me kill them in short order..Nice..
After that I hired her as steward..she moved about the house used the alchemy lab, sat at tables ate, read books on the shelf....night-time went to sleep upstairs in the bedroom, where my Hearthfire housecarl Rayna sleeps in the other bed no problems..
Good work mate..if only she had an Argionian voice but I understand the limitations on that one..
    All in all, alls well!!!!
    Good on mate

*****PS had to add, sorta funny story..built another house in Morthal, with the fisherey.. the Breton steward Jeande in Morthal, attacked me,when I approached her to hire .. aye .. so I ran outside the guards kill her, but what's real funny, I got an inheritance left in my name from the Jarl, a courier, delivered, with her name on it bequeathing me 500 septims, nice....It made me chuckle actually..
Do they sometimes do that..or was it the involuntary sex change I preformed in the CK on Jeande..
So far everyone sleeping in the beds and working fine..TA

Little problem. Used your mod and hired the Argonian. Long story short I changed my mind, deleted the mod before I got rid of the new steward, and now it won't let me hire another because it thinks I still have one. Any ideas? Already tried reinstalling and killing the Argonian off. Doesn't work...
