I attempted to "port" this mod to SSE using the "add mod from file" button in NMM. All seemed to be working fine until I ran across an Orchish crossbow with a missing mesh. I don't know if there are any other missing meshes because I stopped playing the mod right then. Is there anyone willing to port this mod to SSE so it works?

I'm sure that you already figured it out (or don't care anymore), but for anyone looking for a way to port this mod just run it trough NIF optimizer (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4089/)

      1. download mod manually
      2. unpack with 7zip
      3. run trough NIF optimizer
      4. either repack with 7zip and install with your preferred mod manager or just install manually

I tested the mod after conversion and everything is working, no Creation Kit conversion necessary.

Current version of the game "Special Edition" + current Vortex versionmakes:
Crossbows and bolts are invisible which breaks immersion.
    (steel crossbow is fine tho...)

Thanks for the great mod mate! I used to run this back in 2013, looked absolutely fantastic. The thing is, we're on 2023 now and I'm on SE v1.6.640, but I would really love to use this mod again!

So, does anybody know if there is there a way to make this work for SE?

Despite the age of this mod, it seems to fit what I want without the issues present in later mods like Legendary Crossbows and Bows and Proper Crossbow Integration where very few of the crossbows have models when dropped on the ground or are invisible when wielded by NPCs. I did have to go in and edit the quivers with Nifskope (big shout-out to corsairmechanic's post for helping to set me down the path for that) in order for the bolts to not end up floating oddly off to the side when combined with the Belt Quiver mod, but once I had the idea down, that wasn't bad at all. Now to go shoot some baddies with my dragon skull crossbow.

Some further use has revealed something a bit funny. At least the dragonbone bolts still seem to have the old issue that the original Dawnguard bolts had of floating either just in or outside of whatever they hit rather than actually penetrating the target.

Why all crossbows are just invisible?

"LL Version = Everyone can potentially have the new crossbows
Non-LL Version = Only the player can have the crossbows"

Can you put this information into the main mod description as well as into the individual download description please?
    It's imo very important.

Also, I love the LL Version, it's so much more fun when enemies also can have Crossbows instead of just Bows!

My only issue with this mod is that crossbows were already busted as all heck. So making even more powerful versions of them is pretty dang silly, unless your set up is more difficult than vanilla to balance it out.
