Hi, does this still work? I use CBBE but all my female NPCs have their heads with a different color, and it looks horrible :c will this fix it? Thanks!
CBBE recieved lots of updates. You may want to use the OFFICIAL CBBE and then the Texture blender utility...But i you're not really used to editing textures you'll not get the best results. You're better off with a more recent skin mod. This mod evolved into its own skin mod, now called women of skyrim.
Second - I think there has been some confusion regarding XCE and this XCE patch by our talented ZZjay. Even I was confused on how this worked but after a little trial and error I realized my errors and I will try to clear up some the confusion for the others.
In the past people downloaded the dimonized unp body by dimon99 to get the base UNP body and textures (full normal maps, diffuse maps and meshes, the entire UNP works). Then they would download the clean face (meaning just the femalehead.dds) file and apply it to the UNP mod they just downloaded. This resulted in their nice new clean makeup free face but also generated a mismatch in skin tone between XCE face and UNP body, which is what I believe is happening after reading most the commenters here regarding neck seams or mod not working.
What this patch is actually for, and please correct me if I'm wrong ZZ, is making the UNP face (by dimon99) more like XCE's in the sense that its clean and clear of dirt and makeup, there for, providing you an XCE like UNP face to use on the UNP body. I believe you still need the UNP body skins in order for everything to match tone wise between the body and the face. I think people are downloading the XCE clean skin options, applying to the UNP body, then applying this face patch and getting the original problem which is the difference in skin tones. This happens a lot when people use different face mods with different body mods. In order to have a clean, seam free look you should try to use the same normal body, hands, head maps with the same body, hands, head skins. Even by mismatching the normal maps you run the chance of getting seams.
You really do not need to install any of the female related files from XCE. What you need is dimonized unp body by dimon99 (full mod), Women of skyrim 1024x1024 normal maps from http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20483/?, and THEN apply this patch. This should result in the desired effect that we see in the images.
I hope this helps, and if I am completely wrong I will remove this post and hide in a corner.
Thanks for this ^^ i am really confusing on Desc D: until i read this finally i can understand now ^^ and its fix my neck seam I know its late to say "thanks" this now because its 2017 But i have problem on Texblind lite(failed to load color source) and full texblind i cant rid the neck seam even i properly install it. Actually i don't have a problem on texblind until i fresh install skyrim D: it won't work anymore.
CBBE was updated,so this file no longer works with the newest CBBE version.Without texture beldner it's pointless. There are far better texture replacers now. and i have my own Lore friendly skin mod.
ok XCE is not really needed...if u install it you would do it just for males...although there are very good alternatives like this one http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58443/?
what another zzjay mod ? great ! just dled the wardrobe mod and was wondering how you managed to have so beautiflul faces... I need a mod for a mod for your mod of the XCE mod >< lol geez it's complicated
you wouldn't know the exact name of the files you used ? they all have so many optionals >< your mode here gave me the most beautiful faces I have seen in my game yet (with the others they look like pigs >< but I cannot get a seamless body at all, far from it actually, tried many combinations not one work this is depressing
I'm sure this is "easy" for you you know what youa re doing zzjay but unless someone makes a point by point tutorial with the exact name of the files to use it's impossible to make it work
i have seamless tutorial http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46967/?
...but it requires the tool to open dds files...otherwise u can use a premade skin (i have one on my own called women of skyrim): http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25588/?
it's very similar to this one....but it comes with its own body textures... (regular unp textures have a vey bad seam...even if on original modpage it doesn't appear...)
you must pass the meshes into a little nifskope trick (uv 1 normals no) and use a neckblend kit to both HEAD AND BODY (both texture and _msn) (look for my resource for the psd fie,or for neckblend kit)
if you want seamless stuff you have better use a full skin texture like my women of skyrim http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25588/? or SG: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35267/?
Unfortunately I can't get this to work for me. I have CBBE and obviously, XCE is fine on the face but doesn't look right on the body. Installing this patch, for some reason, just removes the effects XCE had on the head? And leaves the body? I don't even know.
This mod allows yu to install Body replacers AFTER you install xce,not the other way around.
U MUST install CBBE body AFTER xce.then again after installing XCE and CBBE install this mod,if you want your face to look like XCE.
if u want to keep XCE look,do not install the cbbe facepack. this is like a replacement of that. for a complete job i made another file that contains normalmaps...not required...but it's what u see in pictures.

If you prefer the old version, just download from old files
Remember that normalmaps are not included, and i recommend these:
Women of skyrim 1024x1024

I want a XCE look with UNP body.
In which order should I install the three - UNP, XCE and this Patch?
Anyway, thank you for the work!
