I had to move on from this mod a while back. I hate to leave so much unfinished, but hopefully people can find some use in it. It started as my first big project at modding. I learned a lot from it and the practice at programming came in very handy for me. The mod is completely open to the public if you want to use it in anyway.
I'll answer questions as I come across them in my email. I hope everyone has a great future and can enjoy the present.
For the love of God don't leave this unfinished lol....it is THE MOST ESSENTIAL MOD for actually PLAYING Skyrim. I still get "mhpsetsscript" and "mhpconfigquest" errors like crazy in my papyrus though. I was able to play quite a few hours with this mod on my first character, for some reason when I decided to start fresh so there would be no leftover scripts messing with my saves from mods that no longer exist, I have MORE PROBLEMS with errors from mhp...
Makes me so sad, I NEED this mod, and I need to quit crashing. I am very sad... However, I still must thank you, as we all should, for such a great tool, I mean it when I say THE MOST ESSENTIAL, and you deserve a million kudos for that. Thank you, thank you.
I know I'm replying to a 6 month old post, but I don't have too many options: what email? I'm trying to contact you on how to get your scripts to recognize SKSE 1.7 Alpha as an acceptable SKSE build. You're normal coded beta checker isn't working and I'm getting errors telling me to "update SKSE".
Well, that answers the troubleshooting question I was about to ask. I hope someone picks this mod up and gets it up to date. It no longer works with the 1.7 v of SKSE and vs 4.0 of Sky UI This is a critical mod... especially for mages.
I suggest everyone try AH Hotkeys. Its features actually surpass MHP in almost every way, and I say that as an avid supporter of both Spinner and a long term MHP user. Trust me. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59171/?
Thanks for the memories, Spinner. You're a champion.
@Tristamid I took a look, but it seems like it lacks some things that I love about this mod, including: tap modifiers (press and hold, double tap), and autocast and re-equip last, and I'm not sure if it supports the the extra armor biped slots (it may, but it doesn't say one way or the other), nor does it seem to allow a "full" equipment set (meaning a loadout that included armor *and* weapons).
You can ask the question on the AH Hotkeys mod page, but it does support equipment armour and weapon loadouts, autocast (+ shouts) and re-equip last item functions (after completing an autocast). Re: double tap and hold modifiers, this is being worked on. Re: extra biped armour slots, it will equip armour into whatever armour slot is assigned to an item.
Ok guys I've read throught a LOT of pages of these comments and I still can't figure this out: How do I get this mod to equip something in my left hand? I absolutely cannot figure it out! There's a post that says to hover over the thing I select and press insert, but that's not working or showing a tooltip at the bottom like a lot of the other options in the mod are. So what gives? For example, I'm trying to make it so that when I select my staff hotkey, it puts the staff in my offhand so I still have a weapon in my main hand.
I utterly depend on this mod as a caster and I appreciate the author's (obviously extensive) work on it, but it seems to cause some moderately serious issues, on my system at least. If anyone has suggestions I'd love to hear them.
3 very different examples:
1) during intense battles (when i really need it to work properly), the mod often seems to get overloaded and buttons stop activating.
2) Sometimes the mod will lock up, and it the only consistent way to fix it I can see is to exit Skyrim and reload. Until I do, one of my hands will continue charging a spell, and won't stop.
3) This one is strange. I was having an issue where attempting to remove all items from a very loaded container would always cause a CTD. Strangely, I discovered that deactivating this mod would 100% solve the problem. Resetting MHKP's settings in game also solved the issue for a while, but it eventually returned. Not really sure what to make of this one. It also makes me wonder if it's causing other issues that are less obvious...
I count if i am not wrong but only 37 spells can be shown in the list of mapped hotkeys, and so far I decide to change some of the keys so when going into hotkey spells in the mcm menu to change my hotkey, last spells are not on the list and I can't change the hotkey buttons and I have more then 37 on the list. Any suggestion if this can go beyond 37?
This mod is one of the smoothest mods I have ever used, lol, there is a reason it uses so many scripts. You can set any key on your keyboard to almost any item, set, you can choose which hand to have said item equip to. You can cycle through items at the click of a button. You can set generalized hotkeys for potions. And moreover, I have never had 1 single crash related to this mod. If my game ever lagged or crashed, it was because I was trying to do way too many things too quickly for my own pc's ram to handle. (PS I only have 8 gigs of RAM, so low performing pc's also aren't an excuse) Don't get mad at one mod author just because you don't know how to safely mod your game
Not sure what you're talking about. Have you ever even created a mod? You release the mod and troubleshoot as you go once it becomes functional enough to release. More over, I feel like you never used this mod because despite all of those alleged bugs, this is one of the smoothest Hotkey mods I have ever used in skyrim. And one of the most ambitious and well thought out hotkey mods as well. I haven't had a single issue with this mod up until this hiccup with magicka potions, but that system is still really innovative and makes sense as to why it would probably be pretty complicated. Your comment is so baseless, it's like trying to complain about the existence of skyUI, albeit this mod isn't as popular, but in my opinion, it is just as much of a must have as skyUI is. This mod is honestly in my top 10 absolute essentials for modded skyrim
EDIT: I actually figured out the issue I was having with magicka potions and it was my fault, not even the mod's fault. So there ya go.
I Love this mod, but recently I noticed that when I set a hotkey to restore magicka potions, it doesn't work. No matter how many times I reset the key, and no matter how many restore magicka potions I have in my inventory, it doesn't work. Health and Stamina work fine but magicka doesn't work at all. It also shows up as blank in the configuration menu. Example: When setting the 6 key to restore magicka potions it says "6 set to " (I am not sure if that last part is helpful, maybe it's like that because it isn't one specific item that is being set to that key, but I am pretty sure the lack of magicka potions working at all can't be intentional.) Again i really love this mod and I know that this won't be fixed here, that the fix would most likely be in special edition. But I wanted to post it here in case nobody knew about this issue yet. I definitely still plan to keep this mod in my LO because it runs so smoothly (Assuming I don't intentionally press the boundaries of my pc's ram) and it is amazing, I just noticed this issue and it sort of bummed me out a little.
EDIT: I just realized that the author has moved on from this mod which, while sad, I completely understand. It's still one of the greatest mods I have ever used for Skyrim and I absolutely will continue using it as long as I am able to
RE EDIT: If anyone else is having this issue, I fixed it by reloading a save that I wasn't fighting in, and setting the keys to my number pad instead of the numbers at the top of the keyboard

Nah, skip.
i am done with script latency.
Better move one to Special Edition.
