What is really needed is a series of rings and necklaces, ranging from leather all the way up to dragon, each of which give exactly the same protection as two of the four armor pieces that normally go to make up a set. So a ring could represent the same protection as a leather helmet and leather armor while the necklace would provide the same protection as the gauntlets and boots combined.

This would not be overpowering and would allow for players who do not want to wear armor (for any number of reasons) to still have the same protection. For example I like wearing the Redguard outfits but they are just cloth and, unless one is playing a mage, give no protection at all. With the rings I would have the effect of regular armor without the look.

As for those who gripe that it is for those who wear nothing, what is their problem with that? There is a really fine mod out that creates a Succubus race. Their style of game play is really unique, and if one sticks to a strict set of rules (no enchantments on any armor or clothing and no fortify spells of any sort on the jewelry other than Magicka or Illusion are two of my rules) they make for very challenging games, particularly since I never play at anything but Master level and allow my character only two steel daggers and a bow (all unenchanted). She can have other spells but she cannot have any enchanted armor or jewelry to power them so she is pretty much stuck with illusion and not much else.

So thank you for this fine mod and think about adding jewelry of lesser power.

    Oh, and I endorse.

After playing with this for a good while, now, I have changed my mind. Slightly.

It's great just as it is! Does NOT need any increase in materials, as they are already not so easy to get. Maybe others can do better, but I'm not able to collect everything AND get Smithing of 100 before I reach around level 25-26 at best, and by that time I'm capping armor anyway.

I've been testing this for about a week now. Mid to late-game, it is NOT OP, imo. I love the option of being able to wear whatever clothing I want and still having decent armor. I like to think of it as enchanting Alteration magic armor into jewelry, cuz I really hate having to recast that all the freakin' time. So now I can wear my sweet Field Mage outfit and not get skewered/sliced/crushed/eaten every 5 minutes.

Altho, to help make it even less OP-seeming, maybe increase the crafting materials a bit? Add a Diamond/Flawless Diamond (since it looks like it has one, anyway)?

    Endorsed! and I'm loving it.

wish it looked a little more bad ass instead of ohh normal rings so if you could retexture them to look like daedric armor and dragonscale armor it would be nice but i suggest making the daedric ring in to something like a daedric looking dragon to go along with skyrim

It is supposed to be OP. Also, that armor rating is with over level 100 light armor and all perks.

I believe the game have an armour cap at 456, and you can reach it by light armour with some perks and skills. Not to mention the obvious that a ring protecting you as much as the rest of the armour is quite overpowered.

Maybe give them a bonus which enhances your matching armour parts: wearing a Daedric ring, may make the armor rating of all Daedric armour bits increase with 5%, etc.

I think the needed stuff for crafting it makes up for the "overpowerness" its a great mod though and i think i'll just go off with tracking it for now

what you could do to make it balanced is add effects to it like health, stamina, magicka rate decrease, one handed and two handed decrese, etc. stuff like that just to make it more balanced, you could like add the recipe to a book and hide it in skyrim, make it a quest to get the recipe
