I thought this might be a good time to make some "updates" on stuff. I'm really really interested in starting to mod again. During this time period I've been studying at my local university. I'm going to South-Korea the spring in february, so I don't have too much time. I'll see if I can take a look at this mod once again after christmas. It has been a long time yes and if you're still waiting, well damn I'm impressed. I do have some tests to take in january though so I can't promisse anything. Anyhow I'm pretty sure about what's causing the crashes now when I started going back to modding for a little bit. Other than that I wish to move on soon. I've been following the HDT progress and velvet progress ever since dawnguard came and it's so good to see. I have plans on adding hairstyles/weapons with HDT physics enabled. Not much more to tell really, but you might see me on LL regarding HDT.
I just discovered a workaround for the ctd. I Used the mod "Grimoas Vampire Lord" here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29085/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D29085%26preview%3D&pUp=1
Then I replaced the armor meshes and character models with yours. Now, when I transform, I have daedric armor, and I no longer ctd when changing back. I never used the Creation Kit, never changed anything besides replacing meshes. I hope that helps.
Also, I guess it leaves the cape there, which looks a little strange, but still, the daedric armor looks incredible. I am amazed that nobody else tried this.
If anybody else is thinking of trying my solution, you just need to install grimoas vampire lord, verify that you have the dragonscale vampire lord armor when you transform, then manually download this mod. Rename "vampirelordarmor" to "vampirelordkingarmor." Then move both "vampirelordkingarmor" and "vampirelord" to skyrim/data/meshes/actors/vampirelord/characterassets, and overwrite when prompted.
Thanks for telling me this. Actually this was tested two years ago, but I didn't personally test it, due to how I modeled the mesh, but I really should have. Thanks for confirming this regardless!
MAN ive been wanting to find soemthing like this ever since i found the Deadric were wolf armor mod and i just found this and it LOOKS AMAZING i cant wait for when or if you fix this its really amazing its the best vampire lord armor mod ive seen so far keep up the good work i cant imagine how hard it must be to make this stuff since ive never done it
Well, if somebody need it. My suggestion how to fix male. You need to open vampirelordfemale.nif and vampirelord.nif in nifskope and copy-paste male's body and armor(only body armor) to female's file(remove female's armor and body first).Save it as vampirelord.nif and replace old file. No more crashes for me.
For people who wants to fix the ctd....well you need to install nifscope, and open vampirelord.nif then look for a tab with the name "Spells", now chose optimize, and select all the options, and finally save with ctrl + S. I remove the gauntles and the wings and y remove the vampirelordarmor.nif.
Gotta say, this would have been one of my favourite mods for Skyrim Shame it wasn't completed.. Since I use a male character it doesn't work, and the "Fix" people talk about in the comments also doesn't work..
I was using "no more ugly vampire lord", then completely removed it. Wanted to try this mod instead, and now transforming into VL just shows me as a red exclamation point, I guess missing mesh.
Fixable?I'm actually thinking Nope, that once I added "No more ugly VL" to my game, I have to stick with it. Or worse, putting it back now won't remedy anything and I screwed up my save
Would a future update possibly make this compatible with Royal Bloodline? By that I mean so that when you get the perk for armour, you get this instead. I was able in the past to add an armour replacement simply by changing the texture files after installation but I remember I couldn't get it to work with this. (Although it's been a long time since I played skyrim so sorry if your current version already supports this.
I think it is already compatible if you just choose no royal armor version of Royal Bloodline. At least 3 year ago. I'm not sure the newest version of Royal Bloodline is still compatible with this mod.
Remastered Skyrim will release soon but CTD is still not fixed yet. It's so sad. There is a solution but I don't like a look of Grimoas new wings though...
I really hope you get back to update this mod. An idea and design of this mod is such a wonderful.

Happy Christmas everyone!
