Omg thank you! I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out why my shield was suddenly invisible and stumbled across this mod while searching. Who knew that shields needed races added in the Armor Addon section of the esp?! Like, why? Anyway, this lead me in the right direction to fix the esp of the modded shield in question, so thanks!

For anyone struggling with this bug while using a modded shield; what worked for me was opening the .esp of the shield mod using SSEedit/TesVedit (or creation kit) and forwarding the changes this mod makes to the race parameters, to the target mod.
This mod edits the following records:
So under armor addon in the left panel -> item affected -> additional races under right panel. We see that the Blades shield does not have a record for any of the vampire races in the vanilla Skyrim.esp. This mod adds the vampire races records under additional races to the affected item to make it appear for vampires.
We can take these changes and apply it to our modded shield: - Right click on the blank space next to "Additional Races (sorted)" - Add - Double click on the newly added empty record, select Yes/green to the pop-up prompt - Double click on the newly added empty record, open the drop-down menu by selecting the down arrow on its right-hand side - select the applicable vampire race
In my case I play as a nord, so i added the NordRaceVampire record to the right-hand panel for the item i wanted to show up on my Nord Vampire. We can of course forward all the Vampire races if we choose. Idk if this is applicable to custom races. This worked to make shields appear on my vampire, i hope it helps anyone who comes across this with the same issue.
Hey I know this is a long shot but I was wondering If you could give me advice on how you made this. I have downloaded many beautiful modded shields that have this same bug. I know it is this bug because when I disabled my vampirism via the console commands the modded shields showed up again. So was I wondering if I could get advice because poking around in the creation kit has been fruitless. How did you make this work, and it works perfectly for me, for the ebony shield. I tried changing the race in the creation kit from default race to vampire races with no success. Any advice for a newbie would be helpful. I enjoy biting people too much to play as a non vampire character.
Thanks for the corrections! However I found that (after installing a mod that enables the crafting of unobtainable clothing such as the Psijic outfit) there are more items like it. I've only found the Psijic boots so far, and it was only bugged for the ImperialVampireRace so I used your mod and added the Psijic boots too. Would you update yours or should I upload mine?
It would be nice to mention in the description that this fix was added in USKP, as this mod would mostly be interesting for those who do not want the whole USKP.
didn't work for me. i even not a vampire but any of my shield become invisible. and this patch have no effect. i got iron shield on my back even if i put it into the chest! taking any shield into arm neither turn off iron shield on my back nor make any shield that i use on. =(
