the snow elf can't because bethseda made it where they can only wear certain armor. in other cases you need to give them better armor for them to equip as default. you can also you exstensible follower framework.
The Snow Elf in Faendals house in Riverwood wont join me as a companion. The Orc and the Elf added there will but not him. I tried CC to add him to follower faction but it still didnt work. Any help?
You have to be friends with Faendal, or he will just repeatedly tell you "You're not supposed to be in here!"
In order to be friends with Faendal, without console commands, you have to get Camilla to hate Sven and start to like Faendal, which can be done in two different ways, depending on who you talked to (Faendal or Sven).
I got Faendal to like me and become my follower but he still wont talk to me and let me recruit him. It used to work I'm not sure what is stopping it now. Maybe I have to do a clean save all over again?
Its not an issue of getting to him or talking to him. Follower commands dont come up for him after making faendal my follower. : ( the other followers are fine, just this one is giving me the biggest headache lol I cant even look him up in the CK because mine crashes when it tries to load DG or any DLC for that matter.
