Worked flawlessly on my 'rim, which hasn't seen the quest start in three years. Usleep and '19 be damned, this is the best fix I found all year.

Awesome, thank you! None of the other fixes worked for me. Like juanfeanor said, you may have to disable and re-enable Falk after you get the letter. For people like me who didn't know how to do this you walk up to Falk, hit your console key (~), click on him, type disable, and then type enable.

Thanks a lot! I was able to spawn the courier and get the letter. Falk doesn't give the quest but if you disable and re enable him with the console it will proceed as normal

    Thank you!

I have the newest USLEEP patch, so I don't know what caused the problem, but this mod solved it. I had finished The Man Who Cried Wolf awhile ago, and leveled up a few times, choosing perks each time, but no courier. Pickpocketing the letter did nothing. SetStage MS06 50 did nothing. Then, I installed this mod, used the console command again, and voila! The quest has started! Endorsed heartily!

Buggier than an anthill STILL. Now, I can't afford the download of a newer patch (due to severe bandwidth restrictions), which is too bad because that of course would likely have fixed it....

But your little mod worked a treat for me, thanks SO much! I installed it; the courier showed up the next time I fast-traveled and gave me Falk's letter. The quest started when I read the letter, but Falk didn't have a convo option for it; I checked before using the setstage, just in case it was going to work "right". However, using setstage ms06 50 sent me on to Styrr, and from there the quest worked perfectly, including the dialogues with both Styrr and Falk after Potema's death.

So many thanks - because even this many years later, I'm STILL having fun with Skyrim, and this was frustrating me a bit for sure! Happy holidays everyone, whichever of them you keep!

I played Skyrim though about 5 times and only got this quest started once.  Thanks and endorsed however I had to setstage ms06 50, then setobjectivecompleted ms06 50 1,  setstage ms06 60, and finally setstage ms06 100 to get this quest to trigger.

Otherwise without your mod I would have played Skyrim a 6th time without doing Wolf Queen Awakened a 2nd time. Thanks again!

P.S. edit  I was at level 117 using your mod and have all the official and unofficial patches and they did not work for me.  I even tried most of the tricks people recommend before I was level 81 and never could get it to trigger without your mod.

also I was in Riverwood Inn "The Sleeping Giant" , loaded your mod, went outside and ms06 was at stage 5 and the courrier delivered the letter from Falk but reading it did not trigger the quest, just set the stage to 10.

the unofficial skyrim patch 1.2.4 fixes this bug. i just tried it and it works.

    I'm sorry but you're wrong.
I have the newest patch, I'm not lvl 81, I did the quest The Man who Cried Wolf at least 40 hours ago, and haven't received the letter yet. I guess the courier got killed somewhere.

Thanks for the mod, I'll try it out!
