So you made those default/fe/male.hkx updates. Now how do you get them onto the user's machine? Make the user (remember and) run your tool, everytime he ran the FNIS Generator? You are kidding me.

Maybe you want to have a look at the FNIS mod thread. How many posts do you think I have every day from people not being able to read and understand the necesity of ONE tool being used.

Before you start something like your mod, you should better have a use scenario figured out. I can't see any serious modder following your lead.

    Independent of what? FNIS?
But makes it dependant of your Behavior file updater instead?
So tell me something. What happens if Beth makes a Skyrim update which changes mt_behavior (happend for 1.6)?
How long will it take you to make your patcher work with the new Skyrim version? And what happens when you decide not being around here any more? The modder relying on a patcher mod is dumped.

These kinds of thoughts I had after making FNIS 1.0. If I hadn't found a way to seperate the added behaviors in their own files, I had completely stopped working on FNIS. Because I could not have guaranteed maintenance.

fore, maybe you are right about deployment intricacies.
Nevertheless I believe that an advantage of this tool is that it makes a mod independent.
    And thanks for constructive criticism.

Seems that I published a half-commented version of this tool yesterday.
    Mea culpa
A correct version is uploaded now.

This tool aims at updating .hkx files, not replacing them completely.
If original files change, then all it takes for a mod is running this tool again and its animations are appended.

fore, I published a release v1.1 where the defaultmale.hkx and defaultfemale.hkx are also updated with new animations.
About FNIS: my tool does not touch FNIS slots. There should not be any conflicts

igli, I don't know your tests, but apparently they don't show the full truth.

Were you aware of the unfamous Skyrim 1.6 horse combat standing on horse problem? That was only, because FNIS and a few other mods were still on Skyrim 1.5 default/fe/male.hkx, and these did not include the names of the new 1.6 animation files.

And you tell me, your stuff works without default/fe/male changes? I think you want to learn behavior reality the hard way.

fore, I'm aware of the existing solutions.
FNIS has certain compatibility and scalability restrictions. Joshs' utility seems to use FNIS somehow.

My tool just appends new animations to the existing list if and only if there is no name conflict. Each subsequent mod can add more animations and so on without any incompatibility issues.

I can add animations to defaultmale.hkx \ defaultfemale.hkx, too. But I can see my test animations working as is.
