So i've been struggling to try to get AV Patch to work. Just trying at this point with Bellyaches mod. I'm following Gopher's tutorial but when I open AV I see absolutely none of my installed texture folders everything is in the right folder and such. I have changed the texture folders names ect and still nothing. Also when i close AV I get two warnings pop up one after the other "There was an Error exporting the custom patch. (Files/tmp.esp(The system cannot find the path)) Please contact the author" and "The application couldn't open the save file output stream. Your settings were not saved."

I should note this is the first time I've used the AV mod so it's process is a bit new to me but I follow every guide to the letter and get the same result. Any help or tips would be nice.

using Mod Organizer. Got this error: "Error creating hard link redirects of AV Packages. Please report to Leviathan1753." So here I am.
Here are the last 150-ish lines of the Debug Overview file: http://pastebin.com/KhT4DuaB

I am also having this issue. Been having it since March, actually. Still no I idea how to fix it. :\

EDIT: Now that I'm revisiting AV + this issue again after a few months, I've rustled up a couple of new tricks to try. Will report today with how/if they work.

EDIT x2: Nope, still no dice. I meticulously removed everything AV related from MO (including things in the Overwrite folder), and then reinstalled AV and ONLY the Bellyaches pack. (Thought it might help to start from the bottom and see how it went.) I ensured my Java was up to date and 32 bit, took ownership of everything in the Skyrim folder-- basically did everything the Troubleshooting guide suggests. I went to run the .jar and...! Same error.

Advice from someone more knowledgeable than myself would be incredibly appreciated. :\

HOLD UP I THINK I SOLVED IT

JUST LET ME CONFIRM IN GAME

I TOTALLY DID. I'm super ticked that it was THAT easy and it took me four months to figure it out BUT STILL:

It appears that all you have to do is check the "Move Package Files" box in the Texture Variants > Other Settings tab.

Like I ranted above and in the linked slew of posts-- I tried EVERYTHING I could think of to fix this. And apparently all it took was checking that little box (even though the sticky tells MO users not to).

So. Yeah. That's all it took. I don't know why or how, but I double-checked the default and MO file directories, and everything's golden. :| Don't ask me why, but it is. /sigh

    Hello,
I have been trying to run the Automatic Variant patcher through mod organizer. It works fine with "Move Package Files" ticked, but I see in the posts section that this is not supposed to be ticked when using Mod Organizer. When run with the box unticked I get an error saying "Error creating hard link redirects of AV Packages" and there are no textures or links present in the texture folder. I am able to manually create a hard link in the folder generated by the patcher to the texture file(s) without issue, but would prefer to not to perform this manually for each texture file.
Is there a way around this error? I have made sure that all users have write access to all of the relevant folders. If I use the non-hard link option will this cause errors or merely take up more space? If anyone has a solution to share I would be grateful.

Hi, i'm looking for some help with AV using NMM. I have been wanting to use bellyaches pack with AV through NMM, and after installing the pack I can't get AV to work/install. It says there is a problem occurring during the install. If i could get some help with this problem, or a guide to help me get AV to function nicely that would be awesome. Cheers!

    Hello!
I've run into a problem: after installing everything the way I was supposed to, when I start the automatic variants problem and go to close it for it to start patching I get several error messages, the first one saying: "There was an Error exporting the custom patch. (Files/tmp.esp(The system cannot find the path)) Please contact the author" the second one that comes after clicking the first one away says "The application couldn't open the save file output stream. Your settings were not saved."
Is there a way to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Sylwina

Edit: I now get a different error message: "There was an exception thrown during program execution: "java.lang.SecurityException: SHA MessageDigest not available" check debug logs

Hi! I was wondering, how do you get AV to stop changing stuff. Here's my issue... I buy a really cool looking horse; It's awesome, my PC looks great riding it and so on. I save the game, shut it down for the night or what-not, the next time I open the game, my horse is lame, old, vanilla brown, or that ugly not-black. And the time after that, It's white or Pinto or something else. :-( I want my cool horse back! Anyone else having this problem?

Rerun the patcher, disable all horse textures.

Do you mean install horse texture replacers after running AV patcher?

    Hello,

I'm playing Helgen Reborn at the moment at the moment and everytime I tried to enter a specific area during a quest, my game crashed after the loading screen. When I tried to find which other mod caused that (following the FAQ on the HR mod page) I discovered thet it was obviously my AV patch, because with it disabled eveything runs smoothly.

Please tell me if you need any further information.

(EDIT: Re-enableing after entering the area works perfectly fine from what I've seen until now, but I realised that I am not able to loot from those creatures affected by AV. They apper as nameless and I can't open their inventory.)

PS: Sorry for any mistakes, English is not my native language...
PPS: I sent this to Leviathan two months ago and didn't get an answer, so I try posting it here

    Hi guys,

I wonder if you can help.

I'm running the AV patcher for the first time, but it auto-quits because of a "missing master", but the master is definitely there! It says the Unofficial Dawnguard Patch is missing the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, but both patches are installed and in the correct order. Everything else sees the USP, it is definitely working and active, but AV just does not import it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      I have this same problem.
I did notice a warning on all of the unofficial patches that says they have the extension .esp, but it's file header marks it as an esm.
I wonder if this has something to do with it? Checking the unofficial patch sites next.

Edit: There's a post below about the new unofficial patches having an SCRN feild that can be removed with Tes5Edit.
I've spent days staring at the Tes5Edit manual and it's a bit like staring at a calc exam. Clearly this is beyond my computer expertise. :/

Edit 2: Checked the Skyrim Unofficial patch page. The author specifically addressed the Skyproc problem, said the problem has been fixed for about a month, and the skyproc mods need to be updated to reflect that fix. Not sure what that means, but hopefully an update will be out soon.

    Hi,
So, I'm sorry if this has already been addressed because I've seen other people with this problem, but after reading countless forums, I have yet to find a fix...
I had Automatic Variants running for a long time on my Skyrim, but recently only the Horse (and occasionally the horker) variations are working. All other creatures spawn with their vanilla textures.
If anyone knows what could be causing this, their help would be much appreciated! I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mod and all of my texture packs, patching multiple times, and I checked the Skyrim/Data/textures folder, as well as the Skyrim/Data/SkyProc Patchers/Automatic Variants folder, and both have all of my AV Packages.
    Thank you.

      Try this:

Go to a secluded interior (I use Anise's Cellar for this.)
Manually save your game in a new slot
Open the console and use the command PCB.
Now, In the console, type: set timescale to 1000000
      Close the console.
Wait a few seconds until 31 in-game days have passed.
Open the console again and type set timescale to 20
Manually save your game again in another new slot.
      Quit to desktop.
Now restart and load the last save.
This process forces everything that can respawn to respawn. I recommend doing it every time you rerun ASIS or any SkyProc patcher.

(C&P from one of my ASIS articles.)
