Noticed that the player home, Vellamo, would probably sit almost right on top of the end of the wall, right where Winterhold starts. I'd assume this would constitute a conflict. If the player home that accompanies this mod worked, I could just delete Vellamo, but based on the comments, this mod's player home doesn't seem to work too well. Vellamo, on the other hand, is just about a perfect player home (except for those awful stairs). So, just a heads-up: for those who use Vellamo, it would probably cause conflicts to include this mod as well. Not sure, of course; and not really willing to try, since the comments describe all sorts of weird problems with this mod, even after it is removed (???). Too bad. I'm still looking for a good Winterhold mod. Maybe one day?
This mod is obviously dead and abandoned. Too bad. I'm still waiting for someone to do something awesome with Winterhold. An actual Epic Winterhold that turns it back into the Grand City that it use to be. A city that rivials Solitude! Like it use to!
Qaxes mod didn't come "very close". All it did was add 4 new buildings and a "build quest". We all know how popular build quests are with Hearthfire. Noone wants to do that everytime they replay Skyrim. There are other better WH mods that either restore or expand but honestly they all are a bit lackluster. The reason, IMHO, they're all ish is because Bethesda gave players no reason to visit the area. The MQ there sucks (COW), there isn't enough room for battle, and the NPCs are uninteresting. Why would the star modding talent invest into WH when the players won't even d/l the mod to check it out. WH needs much more than landscape changes. Snowy environments already have a strike against them without throwing in repetitive structures (Windhelm) or bland content. It requires an overhaul - an overhaul noones really willing to invest in.
Be aware, after installing this mod, Adrianne Avenicci's gold jumped up to 10,000. After uninstalling this mod, her gold dropped to it's normal value.
I imagine many players would be happy with the increased gold amount, but, I do feel it should be listed under the description as a change this mod makes.
Asthetically, I like this mod. It rebuilds but does not go overboard. It does not have "ruined" home built into a cliffside at angles that completely defy structural physics. It's plausible the citizens of Winterhold could have rebuilt this since the Great Collapse, starting with very very little, and with next to no help from the College. (feeding the general distrust of mages even more). I very much like that they've rebuild the docks. That's key for any coastal city, and even a ruined Winterhold, would NEED sea trade to help rebuild their economy.
Some of the generic "Nord" citizens are a little disappointing but I get that you already put a TON of work into this mod, and voice acting and giving every citizen a unique name and personality would be a great deal more work.
Hello, first things first : Thank you for such a great mod. However, I prefer others that alter the interior, but would like to use your docks. It is only normal for a city that use to be a capital to have docks, and your mod is the only one adding some. I've tried myself but couldn't edit out the city edits, could someone help or maybe OP could release a docks version only ? Thanks again for your hard work
There is something weird about the Winterhold area. Every mod I've ever tried has added to the total number of random crashes around that place especially leaving or entering the college cells (bridge, gates, doors and FT). I don't know what it is but even in vanilla Skyrim that place is really not very stable. Maybe aftermath from the collapse :-)
To fix the missing merchant option on the mage-instructors at Winterhold college (and Nelacar in town) Open the console, click NPC to select them, and type: addtofaction 51596 1 addtofaction 51599 1
51596 is "JobMerchantFaction" 51599 is "JobMiscFaction"
just removing the mod after you install it wont put them back in the vendor faction to restore them. I tested on the following NPCs: Nelacar (in town) Tolfdir - (Alteration Master) Phinis Gestor - (Conjuration Master) Faralda - (Destruction Master) Drevis Neloren - (Illusion Master) colette Marence - (Restoration Master)
When I have this mod installed vendors in winterhold no longer have the dialogue option to trade with them. I don't know if every vendor is like this but the ones in winterhold and the college are.

There are so many potential mods out there but most of them seem dead in the water.
Qaxes mod comes very close but it adds dremora and vampires as merchants which irks me somewhat.
I solve my problem by changing them in the CK for myself
