Just found this in Dec 2021. I've nearly finished a weather mod project and this resource would have been very useful if I had found it earlier. Anyway, downloaded and endorsed.
Hey, great stuff, got your map. You know if I had found this a few weeks ago it would have made things a lot easier, lol, thats always the way isn't it?
Updated cloud resources and now all layer canvas's are correct and included tester esp to create clouds during 81a clear weather. I also updated the cloud notes so check that out. Will be putting up a few tutorials on weather pretty soon.
yeah so after double checking the layers i still gotta tinker with them a tiny bit more and ill put a few updated videos along with a layer update later today.
so how i measure the cloud percentages are by how far the original texture goes from the top of the dds file down to the bottom from the top if you were using a guide in photoshop.
however like i noted most of those percentages are just rough guides when i was starting to make those more exact cut offs and i just didnt go back through them yet (when i have time i probably will) and take those erroneous notes out. just use the textures alpha layer to note where the exact cut outs are it should be pretty obvious.
when in the ck to get a bearing of the cloud texture disable all the cloud layers first. then turn off all the speeds (y and x) and then change the cloud layers to the canvas's to the new textures based on their number to the cloud number in the ck. lol and thennnn if your on lets say layer 3 you have to go to another cloud layer like 4 and switch on and off the show color button in the render window.
ill probably make a video on it soon so its easy to follow how I use the cloud canvas textures for myself in the next day or so. once you see how to utilize it you will understand how it works.
Hey, thanks for uploading this. I've done a lot of research in this as well, but not in exact percentages for the cloud speed, so that's helpful
Just wondering one thing so I'm sure I understand your notes correctly. For instance, in the cloudlayers word file, you say "x 40% from top to 85% from top". Does that mean that you can have the cloud layer speed 0.0400 to 0.08500 before it "clips" (gets cut off by its boundaries)?
