Uploaded all the optional files that replace only some of the faces: * Companions: Vilkas, Farkas, Aela the Huntress, Athis, Njada Stonearm and Ria. * Housecarls: Argis the Bulwark, Calder, Iona, Jordis the Sword-Maiden and Lydia. * Hirelings: Belrand, Erik the Slayer before and after he becomes an elligible follower, Jenassa, Marcurio, Stenvar and Vorstag. * Quest followers: Onmund, Benor, Mjoll the Lioness and Aerin, Uthgerd the Unbroken and Brelyna Maryon.
Hi Sydney! I fell in love this mod the moment I laid my eyes on it, and I really appreciate the effort you have made for it. However, I came across a bit of a problem and I was hoping you could help me out. It seems that Aela and Farkas change only partially; their face structure is different now, but neither of them have any war paint on and Aela's hair hasn't seen any change either, which is such a shame since you did wonderful work on her to make her look so unique. Could you please help?
Sonistry, first of all make sure you've installed all the files from the mod, installing it with NMM makes things easier.
If that doesn't fix it, you've probably installed another mod that interferes. Try first uninstalling all the cosmetic mods that affect the warpaints/hair/ etc and the ones that change Aela and Farkas, then reinstall this mod and then see if now you see everything as it should be. If that is the case, then reinstall the other mods you've deactivated one by one untilf you find out the one that is interfering. If even after deactivating those mods you don't see them fixed, deactivate the rest of the mods (maybe there is one that has dirty edits and interferes with their faces even though it shoudn't. Then activate each of them one by one until you find out the one that interferes. And if that does't fix it either, try with only this mod installed in a new save.
Thank you for your quick reply! I installed with NMM so I should have all the files. I also downloaded the mod manually and used that as a checklist to see if NMM had somehow missed some file but they all seemed to be there.
I did as you said and unfortunately only managed to get the mod working with a new character when I had no other mods installed. Even though I already uninstalled them one by one and reinstalled yours (and saw no change) with my main character, I'm going to go and install my mods again with the new one to see if I could figure out where it goes wrong. Maybe I missed something on my first try.
EDIT: Apparently Enhanced Skyrim Factions: The Companions Guild caused the problem, but putting it higher in the load order seemed to fix it. Quite curious, considering that that was how I had it originally. I'm going to test further.
EDIT2: Yeah, nothing else seemed to conflict with the mod and I managed to install the rest of my mods without trouble. However like I said, I did this with a completely fresh character, so when I loaded my main character's save, Farkas had the same problem again (and probably Aela as well but she wasn't there for me to see it). I don't know what to do.
Infinite, try the fix for the weight that is in the description. If the problem is that your game is not loading correctly the textures, that may fix it. That also may be due to you using a face texture / body texture that are not compatible. This mod doesn't add any texture
Have you recruited him but he is not following you, Wollam? Try fast travel, sometimes followers in Skyrim get stuck somewhere and fastravelling makes them appear at your side. By the way, I've only changed his face, his behaviour is completely vanilla
Does Windsong Skyrim Character Overhaul conflict with this mod? Because I WANT IT SO BADLY, I'm really glad you didn't make this mod like a lot of other mods like this that make everyone look way too unnaturally feminine/young/smooth skinned. I also LOVE the way you made Jenassa, best make-over EVER. You truly made these followers look like who they really are.
Although, too be honest you could've made Mjoll look a lot more Nordic and tough, she deosn't look like the character Bethesda made her to be, y'know? like the warrior she is. The hair is very nice, but she deosn't look like the sort of adventurer you would take on dangerous, rugged adventures. When creating NPC/Follower re-textures, you should really consider how harsh the land of Skyrim is and how the natives who have adapted to such a cold climate and how they were shaped by their snowy mountainous homeland.
Phoenix, if two mods replace the same faces they will conflict: you'll only see in game the ones added by the mod you've installed alter (and is last in your load order).
If only some of the faces are the same in the two mods, then what I've said before will happen with the faces in common, and you will also see in game the faces replaced by the two mods that are not replaced by the other mod.
For instance: * you install mod A that replaces faces 1 and 2 * then install mod B that replaces faces 1 and 3 * then in game you will see: face 1 from mod B, face 2 from mod A and face 3 from mod B
I deinstalled Skyrim and the CK more than one year ago, so I am not modding for Skyrim anymore
I am in the process of installing Skyrim (again) and I want this mod back in my game but I also love Males of Skyrim. But there is no way I want to loose my beautiful Ria, Njada, Lydia, etc. so I'm happy I can have them all. Yes, I'm greedy
Just wanted to let you/people know that your suggestions works. I let "Males of Skyrim overwrite" this mod and now I have the best of both worlds.
Note: Check your load order after you run LOOT!! LOOT kept placing this mod after Males of Skyrim.
And thank you Sydney for your patience and support. I am sorry to hear you quit Skyrim but I'm grateful that you're still here, helping us out. That is above and beyond.
It is only now I noticed that Njada Stonearm always wears her helmet and is bald underneath. That never occured to me before. In your images, she looks great with her hairstyle but in my previous playthrough, as well as my new one, she insists on wearing her helmet. Her face is as it should be, just like in the images from this mod. All the NPC's look as they ought to look.
(I use NMM to install and I have uninstalled Males of Skyrim- who do not alter Njada anyway- just to be sure, still the helmet is there, no hair)
HybridEclipse wrote: Could you create a standalone version of each replacements? I only want Aela and Vorstag...
Hybrid, I deinstalled Skyrim and the CK more than a year ago
But you can either: * use the companions only file and delete all the changes done to the rest of the companions. * use the companions only file and then install another mod that changes the faces of the companions you don't want from this mod. If you install that other mod after this one, the changes done by that mod will overwrite the ones in this mod.
Thanks for your advice, I have actually found out how to do it, so there is no need to worry! Thanks again.

With this I consider this mod finished

= if it ain't broke, don't fix it! = don't mess with perfection!!
Best Companion mod - particularly Farkas and Ria - have come across.
You killed it with this - so many mods out now, and this is still the best!
kudos.
Can you do a version separating males and famales?
If possible thanks... if not... thanks too!
p.s.: sorry my english
