can you make something like this for sse?? i know engine fixes does it but it only extend it to close to 2048 and even getting close to that still gives the fake save corruption
Thanks to <10 clicks on your mod page my past 2 days of game free time frustration have been resolved. Idk what i can give ya outside of my thanks but you def have all of it
@eLoCC86 mod organizer 2 does not have these fixes and suffers from the issues prevented by the use of this mod. mod organizer will give you an error and say the fixes are already made by mod organizer and running nitpick might cause issues but those claims are false , pay them no heed nitpick WILL fix the issues it says it fixes.
Shademe, can you help me out? I have nitpick in because I wanted to have over 255 mods (which is a really dumb move on bethesda's part) and I put it in the SKSE plugins folder, but my game still CTDs, and when I check the SKSE logs it never says anything about loading Nitpick.dll. Please help!
Shademe I tried to PM but with no luck. I have finally hit the 255 mod limit and Nitpick don't seem to be helping. I use MO and have ran it with nitpick (newest version) for several months. I have a lot of mods (mostly textures) and am way over the 509 limit (i think). But, just recently I went over the 255 limit thanks to immersive settlements and immersive patrols (like 30 patches combined). I have it in my load order and I have verified that is is "running". I also tried manually placing the mod in my data folder and that still didn't work. I might just be misunderstanding what the mod does (new to modding) but I though it would allow me to load more than the 255 binary limit. Please help. I have attempted all I know to do but can't get the utility to work. The only thing I haven't done it place all my mods in the data folder and with nitpick, because that would take me forever to unpack/copy/paste all that data. Thanks. Malle1. Any info would be much appreciated.
As I said earlier, Nitpick does not remove the 255 mods limit. You're simply going to have to remove some mods from your load order. Also, I generally don't provide troubleshooting support here on the Nexus - You'll have to post your issues in the discussion thread linked in the Mirrors tab.
And when you make your report, you'll need to post the contents of the following log files: skse.log, Nitpick.log. The former can be found in the DocumentsMy GamesSkyrimSKSE folder, and the latter in the root game directory.
This doesn't remove the plugins limit!.. This is removes the character limitations within the scripts and/or ini files. If you have more than 255 mods, I recommend Standalone Merge Plugins. This program will allow you to merge multiple plugins into a single plugin to help reduce the number of plugins you're using. You can have 30 plugins merged into one plugin, and the game will recognize only the single plugin you made. The game doesn't "know" or "care" that you merged them into one. It can handle only the max 255 limit. But if you have let's say 1000 plugins.. and merged them all into, let's say, 220 plugins.. the game will run all of them using the merged plugins since the "220" is under the 255 limit. The 255 limit is the game engines limitation and cannot be compromised or changed. However, using a Merge Plugin app/feature the combine multiple plugins into single plugins will reduce that number of plugins to aid you keeping them under the 255 limitation. Hope this helps! I use the Standalone Merge Plugins to reduce my load order and the game runs fine since Skyrim had no idea I merged them.. it just knows I have less than 255 total after my merges.
It doesn't have anything to do with the plugin index limit. I think the author was referring to the 255 character limit on string values in the ini files. Meaning any string input like "cat" or "video game" used to have a limit to having 255 characters. Now it doesn't. But if you use MO it is apparently an integrated fix anyways.
The reason why the numbers are coincidentally both 255 is because some software for computers consist of limitations due to 255 being the maximum 8-digit binary number. (2^8 - 1 = 255). It is 0-based so it is really 256 inputs. (0 to 255)
